I just popped in to grab some LED lights to decorate my wife’s gravesite after her burial the day before. Looking a little lost down the aisle I was approached by Megan. What ensued next was a heartfelt and informative product selection. Bunnings Whakatane, you have a good one in Megan - amongst a host of others I bet. Bunnings Warehouse is part of 'The Hub' in Whakatane. It's a D.I.Y., garden & hardware store and is fairly extensive. The staff are friendly and super helpful. Their garden center has a lot of variety and mostly good value. Both normal trolleys and flat trolleys for large items are available. They have a fair bit of variety within items also e.g. 3-4 different types/brands of bark, different types of solar garden lights ranging from super-cheap to reasonably upmarket.
I was served by a delightful young man named Shiloh who was very kind and understandable with me. It's good to see that this generation still has some very bright individuals that still act this way to the elderly. 10/10, would shop here again and if possible this young man deserves a raise.
The staff at Bunnings are very helpful. I gave them a call to order items, which were unable to be purchased through click and collect, for a colleague who is based near Whakatāne - for pick up in a couple of hours. The staff members who I dealt with were more than accommodating, taking my order over the phone and allowing me to pay for it over the phone, also. The whole time, they kept me informed of next steps. This is service that is rarely received, these days. But the staff at Bunnings Whakatāne, I felt, went above and beyond with my interaction.
