Bit of an iconic bar in Browns Bay. I've been here a few times to watch some bands and also to perform.
Cool place to go for a drink after work with mates. However, the drinks jugs are a bit pricy.Food: 3/5
The Brownzy has been around a very long time and has not changed much but it's nice to see it in its original glory. The staff here are fantastic very friendly and helpful. Plenty of space inside with pool tables, pokies, TAB, bar, plenty of seats and a lovely outdoor area. They often have bands playing at this venue and is great to check out with a number of well known bands starting their fame from playing at this bar in their starting days. Lots of parking lots of regulars and located in its own area that is close too but not in the middle of the very popular often busy Browns Bay shopping area.
Cold lion red, always a crowd favorite Big loss on the slaps but the pinball win made up for it. $2 connies for a 2pac abit deer
Legend place! Lots of fun and good service from the bar. Although they did run out of tequila!
Lovely Friday with a topless waitress doing a meat raffle. Lost a star because I couldn't maintain eye contact. Couldn't add my photos for obvious reasons
Last gig at the Brownzy. Devilskin rocked the place.
Good place to arrange your own gig if you're band can encourage Joe public to drink and dance. You pay $100 I think and play. BYO PA
To me this is just a average bar. Good for a quick cold one, too play pool or jump on game machines if interested in them. Car park really needs to be repaired and upgraded. Staff are friendly. Lacks a food menu other than pizza and hot dogs. But places across the road can provide fast food items.
Friendly staff, friendly people. Has pool tables, T.A.B, pokies, tables out the back with heaters when it's cold and bottle store handy next door, loud music. Good place for a couple of beers after work. I'd say more of the working class scene. I remember this place 30 years ago and hasn't changed much which I like. Down to earth. Hopefully, parking area will get fixed soon. Its not up market which I like. A kiwi laid back pub
