Brosnacroft was born of a mother-daughter team, whose vision and determination has seen the realisation of many dreams and aspirations over decades of hard work and future-focused Entrepreneurship.
Alicea (mother) introduced Saskia (daughter) to horses at young age, due to her own love and appreciation for these inspiring creatures; from there, the pair have worked tirelessly to first achieve with difficult and troubled ponies/horses, working from grassroots up the levels in the Pony Club system, and now more recently taking on the challenge of breeding Hanoverians and Warmbloods to be serious competitive mounts on the national (and ultimately international) circuits.
Saskia has always involved herself in the diverse network of equestrian industries, both nationally and internationally, and for multiple-disciplines. Having graduated in the Bachelor of Agriscience (Equine Major); this added to and formalised her experience and education.
Her current involvement with the New Zealand Hanoverian Society and the Central Districts Dressage group, as Secretary for both, as well as continuing her training to become a J5 ESNZ judge, has kept her industry involvement current and relevant with regards to the progression of the equestrian sport.
Attendance at key competition shows/events, as well as attending training clinics, has also enabled her to remain actively involved, given she has had to take a backseat with regards to her own competitive aspirations, due to a few injuries sustained over the years.
Prior to these injuries, she was a A&H Certificate holder, Area and District representative for all disciplines (Dressage, Eventing, Show Jumping and Games), winning team member of the 2005/06 NISJChamps, and Development Squad member - for which she achieved the rare qualification for both Dressage and Eventing.
During her university studies, she completed comprehensive practicums and work experiences/placements at a variety of industry specific equestrian facilities.
Alicea has provided the backbone of support for Saskia's equestrian career, and is an essential member of the Brosnacroft team.
As well as her career as a teacher, both in Science and Mathematics, she has contributed countless hours towards the visionary planning, as well as financial and procedural control; having significantly provided so the overall Brosnacroft dream could come to fruition.
After setting in on our Manawatu based property in 2015, Brosnacroft has been growing exponentially, with particular regards to facilities and horsepower, and we believe that the bright future we always envisioned becoming a reality
Stay tuned for the continuation of our journey, and for opportunities to be welcome into our fold - to become part of the Brosnacroft-family!
