Probably will not go back here. Dropped our dog off with eight bags of food enough for four days, two bags a day - when we picked her up only two bags were used, so what did they feed her, their own food or nothing at all?? Don't be messing with our dog's diet, any competent kennel owner should know that. Also was told by the owner "Don't bring so many toys next time." Excuse me? I'm sorry it's our dog we will bring whatever toys we see fit to keep her entertained while we're gone. What to do want her to do, sit in an enclosure and just stare at the walls for four days? I can't speak for all dogs but ours needs stimulation and entertainment. We'll take our business elsewhere.
I have had nothing but good, clean, professional service for my pups at Brookdale. Both Jim and Judy are great, but my pups really love Katie. I have never had any issues and I read these other reviews, specifically the one who states that Brookdale is a terrible kennel and I think, sorry for your loss lady but your dog didn't suffer at the hand of Jim and Judy - he was probably suffering when you brought him in - and that is your fault. Jim and Judy run a kennel, not a vet clinic - and as far as running kennels go - they run one of the best I have ever had the pleasure of doing business with.
We have taken Bella our Golden Doodle to Jim and Judy's kennel for about 8 years. Bella gets sooo excited the minute we turn into their driveway. You can tell if a dog feels comfortable in their surroundings and if they are taken care of. They do a wonderful job!!! We would highly recommend Brookdale Kennels.
Terrible kennel. They allowed my dog to become deathly ill without ever calling my veterinarian. They stated they hadn't noticed his decline! What total incompetence! I can't bear to think of how he suffered and he was dead 2 hours after I picked him up. Do NOT take your beloved pets to this place...it looks nice from the exterior but what lurks behind the door is suffering, neglect and cruelty.
