Wonderful, friendly helpful manager, great facilities including the spa and really great guide about local entertainment. Wasn't sure how to stop or start spa but luckily it was running when we needed and had a long soak. Peaceful, and the most comfy beds, and access to a laundry straight off our twin room with kitchenette. Thanks for a great experience.
The room was a great size! The amenities are well kept and the rooms are fantastically clean! The location is nice and close to the township!
We where very happy with the location originally only being two of us at first we had a small room organised after a little more investigation we decided to upgrade to the two bedroom as it had the full kitchen a lounge and bigger area. We had a beautiful view of Mt Hutt. The hot tubs were a welcome joy at the end of the day. The owners are very warm and welcoming and the service was very good. Unfortunately the Internet was very hard to connect to and the rooms as comfortable as they were they were a little outdated.
We had a fantastic stay at the Brinkley Hotel in Methven! Unit 21B was a great 2-bedroom option, and when we combined 21A & 21B it worked perfectly as a spacious 3-bedroom setup – ideal for the NZ ski season at Mount Hutt. The accommodation was clean, comfortable, and well equipped, with everything we needed after long days on the mountain.nManagers Paul and Gayle are so friendly and accommodating with all our wishes while we stayed and they recommended Opuke Hot pools not far from the accommodation.nnDon’t forget you can catch the bus directly from the hotel to the ski field.nnThe hotel’s restaurant and bar Shackeltons were a real highlight – great food, friendly service, and the perfect place to relax with a drink. We also recommend heading into town for dinner at either the Blue or Brown Pub – both have a great atmosphere and hearty meals.nnBrinkley is the perfect base for a Mount Hutt ski trip. We’ll definitely be back!
WARNING do not stay here if you have children or are female.nPaul the manager is abusive, intimidating and threatens minors. I ended up calling the police and am in the process of making a formal report due to his aggressive and threatening behaviour toward the boys. He was swearing repeatedly and even used the C word at them. After I requested he calm down and mentioned we would leave due to his aggressiveness and feeling scared he then proceeded to insult me and belittle me. After the incident he emailed me to advise he was evicting us from the complex. He made claims about the children threatening his staff so I politely requested to see the footage to confirm which he denied. I intend on taking this matter further but would highly recommend you find alternate accomodation in the area from a much more professional manager. We left there straight away and found much better accomodation. Travelling on my own was difficult enough but to then also have this happen was completely upsetting! I have also emailed requesting the owners details so I can contact them direct in which as yet my request has been ignored but continues to email me with more threats. NEVER have I experienced or seen such aggressive behaviour from a grown up man! I kindly request the owners of the complex contact me direct to discuss this review.n**editing this to address the below response. These kids were 14 and my elderst son did not leave our accommodation without me. The 2 x 14 year olds attempted to obtain golf balls from the reception area which was closed and what you had mentioned when we arrived was available for use which is where you chased them and started abusing them. The day before at approx 9.30 they were looking for the pool area that your business advertises where you again chased them and scared them. Both occasions they were away from me for 2 minutes. They absolutely did not damage, or cause any damage to any property. We left last night respectfully and the apartment in a tidy manner. Your claims are completely false and a lie. I again request footage to be sent to me to confirm your claims and your manager/ owner to contact me direct.
