Two of the leading law firms in Hawke’s Bay merged in 2017 forming one of the strongest and most experienced practices in the Hawke’s Bay area.
On January 1 2017 Bramwell Grossman and Bate Hallett merged to become Bramwell Bate Limited with the Directors being Edward Bostock, Quentin Johnston, Kevin Osborne, Roger Philip, Malcolm Taylor and Graham Throp.
Both firms have significant historical experience in providing legal services in the Hawke’s Bay area. The merger strengthens service offerings, enhances client service and sustains the ability to retain and attract the best legal professionals to the region.
Bate Hallett, which resulted from a merger of Simpson Bate and Hallett Heath, has origins dating back to 1917 and has been providing a wide range of legal services to the Hawke’s Bay region for 99 years, with a centenary looming to celebrate in the new firm.
Bramwell Grossman traces its roots to the 1950’s, when its founding Partner, Wallace Bramwell, was in practice with D P Scannell with the current firm starting under the name W S Bramwell & Grossman in 1960.
