Holy crap! Amazing amazing food! You spend about NZ$35, all of us all five of us had the most amazing dinner here! Man…. My venison was so freaking good. I practically needed bread to suck up the juices off the plate..
Traveling through or stopping in Omarama? If so, put Boots and Jandals on your places to stop and eat at. I can't speak for the food on the bar side of the business, but I'm sure it will be very good, just like what the food on the restaurant side is. Flavourful and good portions, topped off with fantastic service. Recommended
The food here is very good. The service staff is enthusiastic and funny. They always have funny stories with us. Everything is so wonderful and friendly in this small town.And especially the lady boss here is very lovely.
Very generous portion sizes. Food was good especially for being in a small town. The staff were great and encouraged us to get our orders in before a large group. Food came out really quick. I read a bunch of the recent one star reviews as that is a favourite past time of mine and I honestly think they came from entitled tourists who don't understand that when you are in a small town you can't expect big city accommodations to all your requests. The staff were lovely and the place was full on busy, the service was still great considering all that.
You won't find better service thank you Ellery or food in any part of the Mackenzie Basin, or NZ for that matter. The food was amazing, the portions well and truly enough and the service really stands them apart from many other establishments around NZ. Perhaps they should train other restaurants in service and food. We look forward to our next opportunity to dine there.
