Been here now twice, and love the place. For those in New Zealand, during international Covid tourism low point, now is the time to go, where you can get photos, without a large number of people in the way. Pick a time at low tide as this will be the best view of the full set of boulders.
Amazing place, what a great creation on mother nature. Great place to visit.
Fun stones/rocks to look at, step on and go in some are broken. Amazing natural scene on the way to Dunedin. There's a cafe car park next to the boulders, but if you drive pass the cafe, there's another entrance to the official moeraki boulders with car park. Best to go when it's low tide so you get to see quite a few more rocks.
A fantastic collection of strikingly spherical boulders scattered across Moeraki Beach. Certainly worth stopping off here if you are travelling up or down the coast to see these fantastic geological formations. There is a $2 entry fee.
Unusual rock structures but only a handful of them. Would have been spectacular if the beach was strewn with them. Maybe in years to come as some boulders are slowly emerging from the cliff face by the beach. Who knows how many more are buried beneath the earth
Amazing place. Nice walk along beach. Not as many rocks as there used to be, but you can still see some very astonishing boulders.
