Had a great time at Bomba on Sunday. We arrived at 3pm for a very late lunch and it was nice and quiet, with just a few other people there. It’s a small, cosy and intimate space with comfy couches and shelves filled with specialty Italian food products for sale. We were told we could sit wherever we liked, and it was so warm inside, which made it the perfect escape from the icy wind and rain outside.nnWe were starving, so ordered a pizza each. I went for the Puttanesca with pomodoro, fior di latte, capers, anchovies and olives, while my partner had the Diavola with pomodoro, fior di latte, spicy salami and Aleppo chilli flakes.nnWe loved being able to see the chef making the pizzas in the kitchen from our table. They came out really quickly and piping hot. The crust was super fluffy with lots of air bubbles, and I liked that the pizzas weren’t overly oily or loaded with too much cheese. My Puttanesca had heaps of capers, which was great.nnWe also ordered a $4 bowl of marinara dipping sauce each. The servings were much bigger than we expected, so it would have been helpful to know that one bowl would have easily been enough to share. The sauce was also served cold, which was a little off-putting with the hot, fluffy pizza. We would have much preferred it warm.nnOverall, though, we had a fantastic time. The pizzas and service were top notch, and we’d happily come back.
Made a booking at this pizza place on a whim, after walking by it while passing through town one afternoon. Little did we know, we had hit the jackpot on the best pizza in Christchurch and maybe even New Zealand. Perfect soft and chewy stretchy dough, wonderful toppings, quality ingredients, great service and nice glasses of wine in a humble little lively restaurant on the corner of the road.
Absolutely one of the best pizzas I’ve ever had! Every bite was incredible, the base was so light and perfectly made, and the toppings were bursting with flavour. Every single flavour combination felt like a treat in my mouth.nnWhat made the experience even better was the amazing staff, so kind, welcoming, and genuinely lovely. The entire vibe of the place was warm, relaxed, and unforgettable.nnI honestly can’t wait to come back again. If you’re looking for delicious pizza and a wonderful dining experience, I highly recommend this place. Not gonna lie, this is absolutely some of the best pizza I've had here. It's no Pizza Hut, but it's close just kidding. Margherita pizza and pizza bianca were on point. Light, flavorful, and I cleaned the whole margherita pizza myself. Had a bomba as well, which is a lovely bread roll with oil and balsamic dip. Really awesome place. Well worth the drive.
Great experience, top notch pizza and service. Got the nduja salami and dessert pizza flavours on point busy public holiday Friday but not crazy wait times. Will be back
