We arrived here not knowing it would be busy and a long wait, and it was certainly worth it. The fish was divine, the chips were perfect. If you are coming for the first time, especially as a visitor to NZ, some tips: - bring cash - bring drinks - get there long before you’re hungry
This place was recommended to me by friends and to finally try their fish and chips and raw fish was absolutely amazing! Fresh and delicious!
Bobby's is usually where we go to for our monthly fix because they've got that view and yum fish'n'chips. Last few times though I find them a bit hit and miss. We've had over-cooked fish or it hasn't been drained long enough and is soaked in grease. Also so much salt. Think I'll get takeaways elsewhere and take them to somewhere with a view. .
Great fish. We had red snapper and gem fish which were tasty and succulent. Mussels and scallops were missable. Watch out for the chips, portions are massive. Half scoop of chips was enough for 3. Lots of seagulls but they can't do anything about that. Not that many indoor seats, luckily weather was good and there were outdoor seats.
Beats any fish and chips hands down….including all our fancy Tauranga restaurants……had Gurnard today…couldn’t have been more fresh and tasty …..thank you …..
They missed one fish, scallop, three squid rings and one crab stick for my order and I have only received one fish and A LOT of chips can't even tell how many scoops. Most importantly, the fish was just ordinary and chips had excessive amount of salt. Please do not visit here if you don't want to waste your precious time and money.
Fish is very good, perfectly battered and fried. The chips weren’t as good, but still worth eating. Cool atmosphere as it is a fish market right on the water. Pricing is really reasonable. Took about 15 minutes for our fish n chips, so a bit longer of a wait. Overall, a great spot in Tauranga waterfront.
This is not what we thought we were going to. But how wonderful to sit outside at the tables by the water. Our fish and chips were very yummy. Thankyou very much for the smiley faces. We will be back. The amount of people there tells you just how good the food is
Bobby's used to be the best Fish and Chips in Tauranga. Now I'd rate it as one of the worst. The fish was flavourless and the chips were not cooked properly. The squid rings were the only food that was good. Never coming back.
Great place. Fresh fish good chips. Get here by 4.30 on Saturday to beat the rush. Staff work as a team. no long waits orders are completed as soon as.
