Sad and tired cafe. I've been coming to this cafe for 20+ years, so as a long term customer I feel my opinion is completely valid and should be taken into consideration Please no pandemic excuses. If you're the manager / owner of this cafe, and actually read the reviews, at least take some of the constructive criticism on board to improve your operation. I no longer buy food here, just coffee, as the prices charged often don't match what is actually being delivered. Underwhelming to say the least. There's very little love shown for the food. Dried out and tired looking, and chucked on a plate. Really no excuse for this sort of thing. Also the food cabinets themselves are very tired looking with old, and in some cases dirty, looking food price signs that remain week after week. This shows a complete lack of care as the solution is very simple. Also, the tops of the cabinets are absolutely caked in dust, if you bothered to look. For very little effort this could be a well presented cafe again, as it used to be.
Beautiful little hidden gem located on the B1 of ballantynes department store. Walk through children/baby section it's hidden in the corner. Beautifully decorated spacious sitting arrangement, flowers on tables, booth, high chair. Extensive kids menu, cabinet food and desserts, high tea, mothers day high tea. Nice and friendly staff, which and easy ordering, fast table service. Highly recommend.
Disappointed. Ordered 4 meals, 2 hot drinks and 2 soft drinks. Couldn't supply the tea ordered although they sell it upstairs and seemed to forget we'd even ordered meals. 3 different servers asked if we were still waiting for something.....as though we'd normally shell out $75 for just 4 drinks. Definitely someone in the kitchen not processing info and letting the team down. Below par.
What a terrible experience. First the woman lost my order, it just didn't show up. Half the table was charged twice. When my order finally did show up after having to chase it up with the manager my coffee wasn't in a takeaway cup as requested I have a young baby with quick hands and the bacon, Cauliflower hash thing was truly revolting. I couldn't even eat it all and I was starving. I think this is the fourth review I've ever written on google. It was that bad.
Very chic. I love it here. Great coffee and ambiance. Nice place to go out with friends.
Not a pleasant experience. Unfortunately the day we went there they seemed to be having a terrible day, all the orders kept going to the wrong customers and in our case they mixed up ours twice. It took a very long time for them to deliver the right stuff to us, which wasn't very good, such as the smoothie tasting synthetic and incredibly sweet. Not going back to that place.
I wish I could give this place more than 5 stars. It's my favourite place to come and have lunch, I love the atmosphere and the staff are always so friendly and welcoming. I like the fact that they change up the food every week or so, there is always a great selection and the food is always fresh.
Nice atmosphere and lovely coffee and ice chocolate.
Clean, but $5.00 for a club sandwich that could only be generously described as "petite" is a bit much, and not particularly tasty into the bargain. Go elsewhere.
Came for their cream tea Devonshire tea, but left disappointed. The scones were served with sweetened vanilla-infused whipped cream, instead of traditional clotted cream, which made for a sickly sweet experience. Raspberry jam, tea, and service all good.
