We stopped by for a quick coffee and hot chocolate. Their special date scone is divine. You can also grab some souvenir items all locally made.
Was pleasantly surprised with this little corner cafe, which is shared with the local real estate office; we should be professional ‘cafe taste testers ‘ as we certainly have eaten at many on our travels. Husband rated the coffee as one of his best, the ham cheese & pineapple toasted sandwich was right up there with the very best and my smoothie hit the mark as well. Well done ladies !!! The sweetest, most amazing cafe! I missed the morning ferry and came into the cafe defeated and looking for a place to regroup and plan, and the wonderful ladies in the cafe took me in and set me up! I can’t thank them enough for shoring me up and sending me off on a wonderful note to start my adventure on Stewart island. Lovely experience and delicious tea. Very nice trinkets and local goods to choose from as well. Smiles all around. : thank you!
Tried to come for a coffee at 12pm on a Saturday. There was a guest sitting at a table and an employee in the shop, but the signage said closed, even though Google's hours list it as open until 1:30pm. I opened the door to see if that was a mistake and was told by the employee they were closed, but given no explanation. I also stopped by the day before on Friday at 2:30pm and they were closed despite hours on google claiming it's open until 5pm. I was really looking forward to a coffee, but I've learned the hard way not to get your hopes up assuming businesses are open in New Zealand, as they close whenever they feel like it Probably decent coffee if you can actually catch them when they're open!
Best cinnamon scroll EVER! Lovely hot chocolate too. Just had to finish up quickly as closed at 12.30pm.
