A delightful way to experience the history of The Bluff’s maritime, whaling and oyster industries of the past. An extensive range of artefacts including boats inside and out. It would keep enthusiasts busy for some time. The documentary on the mutton birds was very interesting too. Very reasonable entry $5 for adults $2 for children. Inside exhibits with supervision though accessible climbing all over the outside exhibits. Shop too, and a toilet though no cafe. Good for bad weather days as well.
Great little museum about the extensive maritime history of Bluff. Visited on the weekend and had the whole museum to myself! Lots of interesting artefacts - including from Captain Cook's Endeavour. Worth a visit if you're in Bluff.
Definitely worth it, it's a small lovley Museum with a lot of history. And affordable for a short or long visit. Lovely lady at the entrance provided us with good knowledge too.
A really lovely small museum. Not knowing anything about the town except for oysters it was well worth a visit. So well laid out and everything explained. And I don't think I've seen Queen Elizabeth's signature in real life before!
Small maritime museum with stories of the Bluff region. The anti-aircraft gun is great fun for kids as it moves. Cheap, can spend an hour or so if you look at each display closely.
