A unique and amazing experience — very enjoyable! I expected it to be more difficult or scary, but the trip was smooth, safe, and really pleasant.nThe ferry is the main means of transportation between New Zealand’s two main islands. It’s spacious and large enough to carry a big number of cars and passengers.nIt also includes restaurants and a coffee shop.nnNote: Unfortunately, we were not able to find halal food.
Great experience! We were worried about the weather and possible rough seas but it was all good. Friendly, approachable staff, clean facilities. And a superb view haha!.nWould definitely recommend.
Took a truck with excavator on deck , staff were great , trip over from picton to wellington was great also , boat seemed in good condition a little rough around the edges if being fussy , but all In all a good first time experience and a good price .
The ferry was a very nice experience. We were a walk-on, no car loading experience. They are very prompt and helpful. The crossing was smooth even though it was quite windy. I couldn't believe how quickly the luggage was brought out. I definitely use them again.nThe lounge food was ok, and the beer and wine selections were acceptable.
Don’t plan on the ferry in New Zealand!!!! The old rust bucket stranded hundreds of travelers earlier today. Zero refunds, zero guidance or help leading to totally messed up bookings & travel. They turned a nice vacation into a travel nightmare costing thousands with no recourse. We’re beyond pissed as we had assumed that New Zealand wasn’t run like a 3rd banana republic. We were clearly wrong.
