The ferry was a very nice experience. We were a walk-on, no car loading experience. They are very prompt and helpful. The crossing was smooth even though it was quite windy. I couldn't believe how quickly the luggage was brought out. I definitely use them again.nThe lounge food was ok, and the beer and wine selections were acceptable.
Very smooth sailing, crew were welcoming, friendly & very accommodating. We booked a dog cabin for a very reasonable price, it was well worth it. Had our own shower / toilet. Has 2 beds that also have fold down beds above bunks, for a total of 4 beds in the cabin. Has good air vent control on ceiling, and plenty of good storage for those larger swell sailings. Would definitely recommend going bluebridge, even without a dog cabin, great service. My only negative comment would be: when loading the cars onto the ferry, the 'dog cars' were loaded on last. So be prepared for that, ensure u have plenty of water for pup, or good air-con. We ended up getting out of the car and waiting in some shade nearby. I don't know why they can't load the dogs sooner... like after the initial trucks / trains.
Loved our trip, was rough but that's how we like it friendly staff, the food I had was yummy had roast beef in gravy with hot chips. Easy on easy off .
Whatever you expect from a ferry. Clean logistics. Mediocre food. Movies to see and plenty of room for seating. Love the ferry, so 5 stars.
Once again, it was a great crossing in both directions. Staff were friendly and welcoming.nOn the return trip, I upgraded to include the Pohutakawa Lounge and surprisedthe wife. Lovely, relaxing and the mealslunch with drinks were fantastic. Highly recommend.nShort video, even with the old fella.
