Very smooth sailing, crew were welcoming, friendly & very accommodating. We booked a dog cabin for a very reasonable price, it was well worth it. Had our own shower / toilet. Has 2 beds that also have fold down beds above bunks, for a total of 4 beds in the cabin. Has good air vent control on ceiling, and plenty of good storage for those larger swell sailings. Would definitely recommend going bluebridge, even without a dog cabin, great service. My only negative comment would be: when loading the cars onto the ferry, the 'dog cars' were loaded on last. So be prepared for that, ensure u have plenty of water for pup, or good air-con. We ended up getting out of the car and waiting in some shade nearby. I don't know why they can't load the dogs sooner... like after the initial trucks / trains.
We always use Bluebridge ferries.nLast time we caught the Feronia that left from Wellington around 8.15am on a beautiful fine, very little swell & not windy. Great trip across the Cook Strait.nnWe enjoyed a good hearty cooked brekky full of protein.nnIt would be good if the windows got a wash/rinse more often as they were covered in salt spray & visibility out of them wasn't great.
The views are incredible. We booked a cabin and it was really spacious, we even had our own toilet and bathroom. I slept half of the journey.
Been on the Bluebridge Ferry a few times, to and from Wellington. A nice and easy process to get your vehicle on and off, The staff are well organized friendly and helpful. The ferry is spacious and good hot food options available.
Very fun experience but with 7 meter swells everyone was ill. Full sick bags lined the stairs as we left our cabin. The cabins shower drains flooded the bathroom with the waves. The food was good and other and the bathroom issue the cabins were clean.
