Attended a wedding here over 2 days. The location is outstanding. Feels like you are looking at a photoshopped landscape it’s that unreal. The service at Blanket Bay is impeccable. Steph the manager went above and beyond to make our stay amazing. All the staff gave service with a nice personal touch and were very efficient and polite. Also big shout out to Paul who went the extra mile to make our stay memorable. They also accommodated the vegans in attendance remarkably. Their food was to the same high standard as everyone else, world class. Would highly recommend this place, literally perfect. Loved every second of it.
PERFECTION! I would give Blanket Bay as many stars as possible. The accommodations, the grounds, the food, the service and the staff were all exceptional. From the moment we arrived at the gate, we felt like cherished guests. Every need was met, and the staff members tended to any need or request. We so enjoyed the team: Tom, Andrew, Steph, David, Brooke, Paul, Charlotte, Rafael, etc. We also enjoyed all the activities and opportunities Blanket Bay affords, as well as conversing with the other fascinating guests. To cap it off, we loved meeting the owners, Tom and Pauline, who could not have been kinder or more welcoming. Blanket Bay feels like you’re in someone’s exquisite, yet warm and comfortable home with Michelin-starred cuisine and fabulous wines. We are counting the days until we can come back!

Initially I was sceptical that this could live up to the pricetag, yet somehow I come away with the opposite impression. This is by far and away the best accommodation I have ever stayed in. The location, architecture, food, and service are beyond world class. The staff go above and beyond to make your stay special. Deserves 6 stars.
Absolutely amazing! The best place we have stayed. The setting is stunning, the architecture absolutely gorgeous, the service was outstanding and the food divine. The rooms were beautifully appointed and lovely to relax by the fire. I was particularly impressed with the housekeeping service, they were like little fairies making up our room while we were at breakfast! If you can go here you must and you probably won't want to leave. We will be back for sure!
World Class! My husband and I honeymooned at Blanket Bay about 2 years ago, and I never wrote a review because I couldn't put into words how incredible Blanket Bay is. The staff was incredible, accommodations were above and beyond, the food was out of this world, and everything about Blanket Bay is the definition of hospitality. We truly felt at home and cared for. As beautiful as the pictures are, you won't understand until you experience it. A non-pretentious, luxury retreat that truly fed the soul. Our flight out on our last day was late in the evening and Blanket Bay and Kerri was very accommodating of us. We will definitely be back!
I'm in heaven and never leaving! I have coveted visiting this lodge and surrounds for 20+ years and it well exceeded my expectations! The grounds are stunning with the mountains as a fantastic backdrop and all the staff were warm, approachable and nothing was too difficult. The entire lodge was luxury plus without being gaudy, every aspect has been carefully thought out, yet somehow manages to look as if it has been there for centuries. There is surprising, yet delightful decor at every turn. Our suite had everything you could want with a huge sumptuous bed, fireplace, private patio with magnificent views of the lake, large separate bathroom with steam shower and lots of little touches. We even had a surprise delicious box of chocs to acknowledge our 25th anniversary. As for the pre dinner drinks and canapes followed by a 5 course degustation ... wow!!!!!
I can't compliment our stay here enough. Spectacular location with beautiful accommodation, exceptional service and delicious meals. You're truly made to feel special when you stay here. We've haven't been able to wipe the smiles from our faces since leaving. Blanket Bay is worth every cent.Rooms: 5/5
The location, quality of accommodation and customer service were all outstanding. Nestled in a private bay on the shores of Lake Wakatipu, surrounded by picturesque snow capped mountains, it really is a perfect setting. And the food served made every meal an experience to look forward to.Rooms: 5/5
