Wanaka’s gastronomic destination, Bistro Gentil serves modern French cuisine featuring seasonal produce from our kitchen garden and Central Otago. We offer dégustation menus and à la carte. Enjoy a range of fine wines by either the glass, half glass or taster from our Enomatic wine-dispenser system. Located in a beautiful garden setting infused with artwork from world renowned artists, overlooking the mountains of Wanaka, join us for lunch, dinner or a game of Pétanque.

The food was amazing and the service excellent. It was a bit nippy sitting next to the plastic window, but one had a lovely rug to wrap around ones back.
If I could give this restaurant 10 stars I absolutely would. What an amazing restaurant and some of the best food I have tasted in NZ, hands down. Amazing service. Staff members were extremely friendly. We ordered the 5 course tasting menu and wine pairing and were blown away by the quality of food and attention to detail.
A very nice sophisticated dinner that tasted absolutely amazing! The staff were very kind. Recommend this restaurant.

Beautiful food, great service and one of the best views in Wanaka. Great for a special occasion or just a casual date night! Steaks are amazing, great well thought out desserts and some scrumptious entrees!
