Would like to highly recommend Bill Russ of Bill Russ Motors. We purchased a car from Bill in February and it is a little beauty. We were impressed at how Bill went out of his way to help us. I love shopping but not for a car!!! Bill made the whole process so easy. It was refreshing to deal with someone who is honest and had my interest at heart - love my new car it was exactly what I was looking for. Would highly recommend to others and I will be back!!
100% Recommend going to Bill Russ Motors! Bill is an amazing, honest and down to earth guy! I am, unfortunately, not one of those cool ladies who loves cars and knows everything about cars. I love to DRIVE cars but know nothing about them so it was great to have someone who didnt judge me, was patient with me, didnt rush me and took me through everything thoroughly even though I did not confirm that I was going to get the car. I thought that was genuine care and outstanding customer service! I got a 2010 Nissan Juke with low K’s and Bill got everything sorted for me in 2days! He is a mechanic and has promised to take care of me even after purchase and he has kept his word! 100% guarantee that he will look after you if you go there : Highly Recommended!
Initially txt Bill to enquire about a 2004 Toyota Vitz. Told him I'd like to buy. I asked to make a deposit to secure because I couldn't get to Auckland for around 10 days. He asked for 50% deposit up front. I agreed but then decided with a 16 year old vehicle, I'd better get a pre-purchase inspection or PPI. I txt Bill again and said I was arranging a PPI and I could make a $500 deposit overnight to secure car, which I would like to be refundable in case there was something identified in the PPI which I wasn't happy with. This is common practice. I've bought dozens and dozens of cars this way, so I thought it was no biggie. Bill claimed he didn't even know what a 'PPI' was and then he said he wasn't prepared to hold the car overnight with a $500 deposit it was a $3600 car!! He said he didn't really think the car needed an inspection; he wouldn't fix anything that was identified and said he "could easily sell the car" in the next day or two. The upshot of it was, he wanted me to pay in full now because he wasn't prepared to hold the car for 10 days without full payment; he wasn't going to fix anything that came up in the inspection. He wanted me to pay in full, but didn't know how to process a Visa card transaction without the card present! Can you believe this guy? He's meant to be a professional car dealer? After all the bother, I decided not to go ahead because I felt pressured to do everything his way. He was not customer-centric at all and had a bossy manner about him. When I txt him to say I wasn't going ahead, he replied with 'Whatever'. When I said that was a rude response and no way to treat a customer, he replied with: "You have wasted people's time cause you couldn't make a decision what to do don't bother calling back". Is it any wonder that Bill Russ Motors has a 2.9 out of 5 Google rating? Honestly with his contempt for customers, I'm surprised it's not a great deal lower. I also think he was in a super hurry to get rid of the Toyota Vitz which also made me uncomfortable. My response to.Mr Russ' response. I did not ask him to hold the car for 2 weeks on '$300 deposit'. I asked him to hold it for 2 days with a $500 deposit as I wasn't comfortable paying 50% sight unseen with his less than acceptable feedback, so I could get an inspection done. Of course, if the car failed I wanted my $500 back, who wouldn't? Nobody. He was very rude saying I shouldn't bother getting the car checked.Not gentlemanly at all. There was no problem with finance, I just chose not to go ahead with the car or finance. I've since paid cash for a 2008 Mitsubishi Colt $5475 with a Hamilton dealer who was superb to deal with. Mr Russ tells lies.
Bought a Mazda atenza 2007 from here that has had problems from the minute it left the yard, bought back twice to the dealer for repairs on the first week of purchase only to still have issue with it. The cars engine has just died due to previous purchase problems that we were not told, luckily insurance covered a whole new engine. When I got the excess bill and things not covered buy insurance he wouldn’t agree to pay what he agreed to because he thought it was over priced yet I had only had the car for 3 months and it had serious mechanical issues. I had called twice leaving voicemails only for him not to respond leaving me no option but to pay the bill.
Great guy Bill,former rally driver. He's a good family man with a good reputation in the automotive industry.
Although we didn't get the VIP treatment, the vibe at Bill Russ Motors was electric and certainly the place to be when looking for that special vehicle.
