Lunch was amazing catering for everyone’s tastes. The variety and flavours were awesome and the service was impeccable. A fantastic wine list too! Highly recommend a visit to this amazing hotel.
A short scenic drive from Queenstown, this cosy, buzzing hotel with stunning views has a mouthwatering menu. We had an excellent server who had great knowledge of the food and wine, and even talked us through the different influences of the micro climates on the wines she helped us choose. The dishes were delicious and perfect for sharing, and she helped us order the perfect amount. There was a crossover with the Cardrona Distillery on the Sunday we visited which also featured unique cocktail pairings with lunch. A lovely afternoon trip. Pictured: cocktail, baked camembert, fish tacos, lamb ribs desserts. Not pictured too good to pause: chimichurri steak, brussel sprouts, the wine....
Excellent restaurant based on the Spanish cuisine. Tapas like meals for sharing with a great choice of wines per glass. Very friendly staff contributes to a great night out. Reservations are required a week in advance
Always love this place. Amazing food and wonderful setting - I wish the Bannockburn Hotel was closer to home. We came in for some late lunch snacks after a wine tasting on Felton Road and ordered the fish tacos and the halloumi special. Both were so delicious and we wish we could have stayed to have more food. I had a couple of half glasses of rose and it is such a great idea that they let you do this. Also having a Emerson’s Bookbinder session ale on the menu was great for my husband who was driving. Restaurants need to offer more quality low alcohol craft beers.
Oh what joy! This marvelous establishment was just over the road from our Airbnb accomm, so we visited three times in two days. The tapas-style food is phenomenal and the wine list is vast. Across the 11 dishes we tried, my favourite was goat cheese croquettes with honey and balsamic. Bliss!! What's more, Anna and her front of house team are witty, friendly and quick on their feet. If I could give six stars, I would.
Been here several times for lunch over last 5 years. It has always been good but the last lunch meal was outstanding. Just good value small dishes and the best wine selection by the glass. Remember to book in advance as they can fill up even mid week in winter
From the friendly staff to the stunning location and the delicious food the Bannockburn hotel it’s well worth a stop for a leisurely weekend lunch.
Bannockburn Hotel sets the benchmark for what hospitality should be measured on.... 6 of us turned up un-anounced for dinner due to an error we made when we booked. eg: online, we accidentally booked right day - but the wrong month!?! But despite restaurant being at full capacity we were still welcomed and accommodated for a remarkable dinner experience! With excellent service, beautiful hearty food and great advice on choosing from the vast selections of wine. But what's even better than that is the wonderful staff and owners here.. . Thanks soo much for your hospitality, the laughs, the history lessons of the region and sharing your own stories. We'll be back for sure on our next trip down. Cheers!
Service was really good. We had 3 sharing plates between two people. Chimichurri steak is our favorite. Parking: Plenty of parking at the back.
