We stayed here one night during our road trip exploring the north island. We loved it, the owner are so friendly and welcoming, the place is green, beautiful and authentic we camped in our van but you can also rent a little hut or sleep in a dorm. Sharing kitchen and bathroom are great, there is even a library where you can relax and enjoy. It’s a real little community where you meet traveler and have a good time for sure The owner even let us borrow some surfboard and wetsuit to enjoy the waves nearby.
At the "the Farm" campground in Whangaruru it's Hiki Bennett, Tara his wife, not to mention Rocky, 1 year old, my one-night guests. Immediately we feel good in this house complicit in their hospitality. The light is through, the rooms wide, furnished with a certain taste where wood dominates in all its forms, skilfully highlighted with a collection of very "vintage" objects. We are received with simplicity, in great freedom and certain generosity. This welcome from young Kiwis particularly marked me.
Wow what an awesome experience. We took our horses trail riding over the farm and it was a fullsome experience. Great trails, bush, pasture, rivers, hills and flats. Hosts Ellen and Mike were very helpful and welcoming. Thank you for sharing your property.
We camped a night at the hangar but it wasn't to my taste, probably not worth the $40 we paid. The big kitchen/lounge could be nice but the furniture was very dusty and It seemed like no cleaning was being done. Very empty - maybe due to covid. The toilets are buckets with toilet seats above them and one was overflowing the whole time we were there. It looks like it would be a good place for school or club camps.
Everyone should experience The Farm at least once in their lifetime. What an amazing placeLocation: 5/5
Such a fantastic place to stay... kids loved every second. Fell into bed exhausted every night from kayaks, horse riding, motorbikes... there's something for everyone. Great place for families and singles traveling around our beautiful country.
For a raw farmstead experience, spend a couple of nights here in your tent or basic rooms available and enjoy everything this place offers. Our most favorite things were horse riding, kayaking, stargazing, hiking/walking around the farm...kids loved to watch cow milking. The owners/hosts are really nice family, very helpful and informative.
awesome place with really nice people! possibly the best place for horse riding and some cross motorbike riding too. there is so many other things to do - fishing, hiking, kayaking and more... definitely recommended! cool vibes for sure: thanks guys for such a great experience!Location: 5/5

Absolutely perfect! Our kids couldn’t decide what they liked more: picking eggs, milking cows, fishing, the kittens, even LEGO???!! The joint is managed by the coolest bunch, fun and knowledgable, the House is spacious and the vibe is great. Thank you Micheal, Helen, Cathrin, Toni and the rest for making it such a memorable stay for our family!
