Wow, fantastic trails! If you like mountain biking an you’re in Wanaka.. def spend a day here. If you’re renting a bike definitely get an e-bike. nachos and beer was the perfect ending to several laps!
Our second group venture in two years down to Otago from Wellington and we stumbled across this little gem last year. Our trip wouldn’t have been complete without not one, but two seperate days at Glendhu this time around. Absolutely stunning location, services and super friendly staff. We’ve never had a well rounded park before with just exceptional track maintenance. Top it all off with a couple of shuttle runs at the start of the day and after lunch to keep the legs fresh, you just can’t beat this place. As our e-bikes started to run out of battery one by one, we just all filtered down the hill at seperate times and treated ourselves to a nice local beer or other local brews depending on your preference. There is just no place like this that we’ve come across in New Zealand before for its wide range of tracks, facilities and just the beautiful backdrop for the day. Cannot recommend this highly enough and has made it to the annual trip list as a permanent feature.
Get an e-bike and go for a rip, stunning scenery, great staff and fun riding. The nachos are worth going for even if you don’t bike, so good.nnDefinitely a must on a South Island loop
Amazing riding, great vibe, but.. food overpriced for what it is.nnI have ridden here numerous times and it's awesome. Backdrop is stunning, riding great.nnHowever this time we were really disappointed with the food. $25 for a big bowl of nacho chips and a fairly dry and meagre topping. A dash of beans, corn, chopped tomatoes, a dollop of sour cream and some cheese. Nice for the first handful of corn chips each, then it got pretty dry.nnPizzas did not look much better tbh, out of a plastic wrap the other half saw. We wish we had eaten from our fridge in the van...nnSo, enjoy it for what it is, just don't order pizzas or nachos
WOW!nJust WOW! From the moment we walked in to buy our tickets for the day until the moment we drove out the gates. This was just a fantastic daynThe girl checking us in was more than helpful in giving us trail info and tips.nThe trails were so well maintained and the views at key lookout areas were amazing.nThe Mototapu loop is a bucket list type ride. And Hare Time is a brilliant long jump trail that other bike parks should aspire to.nThe bean bags down at the cafe were a nice touch - a great place to flop and recover while contemplating another lap.
