Story

BIG RIVER RAFT RACE 4th March 2017

Clutha Young Professionals thought it was about time we bring this awesome community event back, so why not bring it back with a bang in 2017 raising money for the local Catlin's & Clutha LandSARs (Search & Rescue) & the Kaka Point Surf Life Saving Club.

$10per person (under 16 year old's are to be accompanied by an adult)

Race Briefing:10am beggs beach clydevale.... )will be sign posted from the Clutha Bridge)

Race Start time: 10.30am Big River Raft Race Starts till 12noon (approximately) Beggs Beach will be sign posted from the Balclutha Bridge.

Prize Giving & After Function: Clutha Rugby Club 12.30pm Onwards with the bar open.

BIG RIVER RACE RULE'S:

1. No Alcohol is to be taken or consumed on the rafts. This is an ALCOHOL FREE event.

2. ALL participants are to wear LIFE JACKETS AND/ OR WET SUITS, which MUST be in good condition.

3. Rafts are to be available for inspection prior to the commencement of the race.

4. The raft shall be either home constructed and use paddle power as its movement, or an inflatable raft suitable for river use.

5. The judge’s decision will be BINDING and FINAL.

6. NO DOGS are to be brought to the raft launch site, as this is private farmland
.
7. Remember the race is a fun event and challenges between rafts are a part of this. HOWEVER, to keep it fun:

PLEASE DO NOT THROW or do anything that could cause injury to other people or damage other contestants property (eggs, water balloons, flour are allowed)
