We popped in to take a friend for her birthday brunch & were accommodated by the staff when it was quite busy. We had the poached eggs which were a good yellow yolk indicating they were free range, on sour dough with bacon & potato rostis. Quite the meal but delicious. Staff were attentive & accommodating at the table which is not common is hospitality these days.
We had a wonderful evening last night at Bellbird. It was an amazing ambient evening with GREAT cocktails made by mixologist Nick and the service by the girls was second to none, always checking to see if we were ok and needed anything and very accommodating. Music playing in the background was fabulous. The platters was amazing and complimented the food and atmosphere. If ever you’re looking for something to do on a Friday night then I strongly recommend Bellbird for a great, relaxing evening with amazing ambience, staff, food and drinks
First time visit. Interior felt a little dark to my wife and I. Hard eggs with the Benedict and lacked a little flavour in my opinion. Staff friendly and would vist again.Food: 4/5

Great brunch. I normally have eggs but today went for the Thai Beef Salad. Beautifully prepared and sauced. Meat exquisitely tender. Generous portion. Eggs on the back burner from here. Inspired change of dish. Well done.Food: 5/5

Popular little place in the Dowse Gallery building. Food and coffee were pleasant. Service was efficient, with minimal delay, despite being a busy Sunday morning. Update March 2024: Bellbird is busier than ever; the food, service and vibe remain worthy of five stars.
I am a very regular visitor to Bellbird and I can’t fault the place. Meals are the same high standard every time. Lovely decor and the best part is the staff. Very friendly and welcoming, in fact the staff are exceptionally friendly. Pricing is reasonable. Quick service and an awesome location in the Hutt next to the Dowse. It’s very pleasant with cool music. Often 80s which I particularly love. I just keep coming back as I can’t get enough. I don’t live near by so I make a special trip just to see them. Give it a try, you won’t regret it! Parking: Plenty of street parking and free on the weekend. Kid-friendliness: Often kids and babies dining with no issues. Wheelchair accessibility: Ramp to get up into the cafe.
A popular place situated in the Dowse Art Gallery with pleasant outdoor seating area. Salmon rosti dish was delicious. Vietnamese chicken dish is on the small side for the price. Overall nice experience.Food: 4/5
