Excellent family visit to pick our own and have a berry icecream.
so disappointed to arrive today at 2.30pm and find Bell Road Berries closed when we had come from Omokoroa with visitors to BOP. We checked Facebook page this morning at 10am and saw that closing time was 5pm.nSignagexat gate would be more helpful if it indicated Sold Out today.nWent down the road to Black Stump where we were warmly welcomed.
I bought seconds $18 which I knew were pretty ripe and would need to be eaten within a day or two. To be honest they were only suitable for jam making and should have been sold accordingly. The ice-cream was good.
Amazing place for picking and real fruit ice cream!
Nice experience picking berries today however the berries are very expensive, $20 per kg of strawberries that you pick yourself. Compared to other places we have been to you can pick your own for $14/kg. Ice creams were okay but barely had any fruit, quite expensive for $8 per ice cream. We've been to other places this season where ice creams were packed with fruit for $7 per ice cream so would go there next time.
