Busy, quirky hidden gem on Jackson St. This was my first visit and I'd definitely go back there again. The counter food options looked amazing, but I had the french toast with bacon and banana, and my partner had the bubble and squeak. My french toast was huge and very yummy, but I would've preferred my banana to be pan-fried to caramelise it which sweetens it nicely. My partner really liked his dish. The coffees were great and the service was really quick. The toilet and lino floor could, however, do with an upgrade as I could literally tilt the whole toilet.
I was treated to a wonderful meal, made & served by friendly staff. We ordered a Big Beannie, Breakfast Burrito & Mexican Brekky with 2 Mochas & Iced Chocolate drinks.
Love the street wise feel here. Got me a very tasty large soy latte with a sweetener please! Only $6. Very popular always busy. Parking: On street parking right outside if you're lucky!
I had a very tasty eggs bene here, and a great coffee as well. Staff were really helpful and friendly.
Very friendly, obliging staff who make great coffee fast. A small premise with a bright counter, rustic ambiance, and a hidden gem at the back - a tiny, open-air backyard that traps sunshine on a fine day. Just the sort of place for catching up with your mates over a hot brew! The apple tart slice was indulgently generous and moist, while the rest of the bakery just looked impossibly irresistible! I intend to sample more of their bakery on my next visit. All in all, a small but delightful jewel of a café on Jackson Street, Petone.
Called in here for a coffee and wasn't disappointed. What I REALLY loved about this place was the way the ladies greeted their customers It was so evident that the ladies behind the counter viewed their patrons as more than just faceless punters paying for a hot drink. How they spoke to their customers and how their customers spoke to the ladies showed a level of trust and obvious care that I've not seen in such a long time and have rarely seen displayed outside of NZ. They way everyone interacted with each other was uplifting and made me so pleased I stopped in and got to briefly glimps their very special world The coffee was good too Just maybe a tad cooler but once it had cooled down it was a very good flat white. I would so love to visit again in the future when I'm back in NZ.
Moroccan Beef Pie. Bit on the nose to charge $10.00 when there is hardly any beef in this pie, and it has chunks of potato in it. Pretty average. I wouldn't purchase this pie again. Also, best not to put tomato sauce on the paper plate for a takeaway as it just goes everywhere especially when it wasn't asked for.Food: 3/5
This place is such a surprise. Located in the heart of Petone, Cafe Beannie got the best breakfast deals on the block. Every dish is prepared heart and is experienced through taste.Food: 5/5
Beanie Cafe - love it! Staff are great, friendly, genuine and it just has good energy because of this and the menu. Love the half sized Vege Beannie, the veges are always fresh and the portion size is def enough. *Pic attached of the Vegan stack Huge fan, you should check it out. Thanks team!!!
