We were on a school trip, and the kids loved it. Warm enough to not get cold, but not too warm either. Lots of fun activities for kids, and saunas and spa pools are wonderful, a little bit expensive but well worth it. 5 stars from me
Baywave TECT Aquatic & Leisure Centre in Tauranga offers a fantastic range of facilities, making it a great spot for both fitness enthusiasts and families. The centre boasts an impressive variety of pools, including a large 25m lap pool, a wave pool with surf-like conditions, and a relaxing spa pool, catering to swimmers of all levels. The leisure pool is particularly popular with kids, featuring water play areas and slides. Additionally, there's a fully equipped gym and a cafe, which makes it convenient for those looking to relax or fuel up after their workout.nnFor those new to the area, parking can be a bit tricky during peak hours, but there’s a spacious car park located right outside the centre. It's also worth noting that the facility is easily accessible by public transport, with bus stops nearby. However, for people with mobility issues, the access is generally good, as the centre provides disability-friendly entrances and facilities, including lifts and accessible parking spaces.nnA few tips to make your visit smoother: if you're planning to go during busy times, especially weekends or school holidays, arrive early to secure a good parking spot and avoid the crowds. Don’t forget to bring your own towel, as they charge for rentals. Finally, if you're planning to swim in the lap pool, it can get crowded, so consider checking out less busy hours during weekdays. Overall, Baywave offers a fantastic, family-friendly experience with plenty of amenities to suit all ages.
Great family fun and well supervised. Super facilities and, for me, great experience for disabled folk. Water wheelchair and hoists into Spa pool. Fabulous A great place to book your child's birthday part. Pirates ship and great hydro slide and a pool with waves. Fun, fun, and lots of fun.
Staff are helpful and work really hard. We go every week and the pools are always fun and changing rooms clean and easily accessible. It would be best if they could automate their exit door, though! As it is quite a small area to manouvre and having the exit door automatically open when pushing the button would be much easier especially for prams etc.
One of the best in NZ, slides are fun when you ride them not scary at all, wave pool is awesome, the spa and sauna need to be paid before you get in a bit bothering, as we already paid for admission, hydro slides wristbands need to be purchased as well… we took some snack and had a light lunch therenKids had a blast!!
