This was my first time there and wow it's one I'd happily do again. My partner and I went there for our anniversary. We were greeted by a friendly staff member and taken to our room. It only has 7 units which are one & two-bedroom apartment style units and all are located on the waterfront with great views of both Waikawa bay and the marina. You are only a 5 minute drive from Picton. They offer 50+ sky channels as well as free WiFi. There is a great restaurant only a couple of minutes down the road called the Jolly Roger all so close to a coffee cart, playground and boat ramps. They have plenty of room for boat parking at the motel. It was also great to wake up to the tui, bellbird and the smell of the sea. You also can see the ferries coming and going. I recommend to you all as well as family and friends to please give them a try as you won't be disappointed. Rooms: Rooms were very clean and tidy, the bed was comfortable and the view was excellent. Nearby activities: It was only a short walk to the Jolly Roger restaurant but you could also walk on the Forshaw at low tide .
Has to possibly be the best value motel in NZ, location,location location as the saying goes. Immaculate rooms, friendly staff, will definitely return for an extended stay next time. Rooms: Very comfortable bed, plenty of space and immaculate. Chairs and table to sit outside and watch all the boats and birds.
We loved staying at Bay Bista. From the moment I was greeted at reception until our final goodbye we felt incredibly welcome and cared for. The rooms were immaculate and had everything we needed for our 3 night stay. The views of the harbour were outstanding from our room. I loved sitting on the patio watching the bird life and the boats bobbing in the sea with the mountain backdrop. We enjoyed a great meal and the 10% discount at the Jolly Roger too! Thankyou to all the incredible staff who were incredible!
Absolutely gorgeous place! A great location thats really close to the waters! Very scenic and quiet. The staff is super friendly and accommodating. The accommodation has all the needed utilities and utensils and everything is very clean and tidy! Would definitely come back again!Rooms: 5/5
We stayed here for 5 nights recently. We had booked a one bedroom motel room. When we arrived Rachel upgraded us to a lovely two bedroom room. The rooms are simply perfect. Well fitted kitchen including a real oven and hob rare and full sized fridge. The bathroom was spotless. Bedrooms were cosy and warm. The lounge was huge with the most stunning views over the bay. As kayakers we were able to launch our kayaks directly from the lawn outside our room! Rachel and Hanni were so welcoming. Nothing was too much trouble. This is a real gem of a place to stay.

amazing views and very peaceful by the water. very friendly staff. Bed very comfy. used the local shuttle and they were great. walked 5-10 mins to the Jolly Roger for good food and a beer on the marina

Invincible sea view. The room is very clean, with a lot of space, complete kitchen utensils, and a refrigerator. The water is big and hot. The service staff are very enthusiastic. You can daze on the shore, watching ducks and seagulls. Late at night, the starry sky is beautiful.
