Trav and the team at South Pacific Surf are the absolute best!!! Whether you go for a private lesson or join one of their epic group programs, I guarantee you will learn heaps about surfing, improve your technique and feel like you are progressing, all whilst having the best time with lots of laughs. Trav has taught my lil family to surf and it's so great to see my daughter off on surfing missions with her friends. Can't recommend South Pac enough!!
I have started surfing this year and I highly recommend Trav and the Team at Pacific Surf. Highly capable and motivated instructors teach you all the basics and little pro tips to get you up and on the wave. Learning from incredibly experienced surfers makes such a huge difference in one’s own progress. The atmosphere is kept super chill and fun! The next lesson can never come soon enough. If you want to learn to surf while having the best time and making great connections then this is the place for you!

We use South Pacific Surf for regular lessons for our students each year Year 12 and 13 as part of their Level 2 and 3 NCEA studies. The students love the technical advice, equipment that is supplied, and most of all Trav and his team - they are absolutely awesome. I'm always impressed by their professionalism, enthusiastic and dedicated approach to all they do. Can’t recommend enough. Thanks Trav and South Pacific Surf Crew.
Highly recommend taking surf lessons at South Pacific Surf. My girlfriends and I took lessons over 5-weeks. The group were a mix of ladies with experience and others like me who have never surfed before. They accommodated all levels at these lessons. Travis and his team were super motivational, professional and friendly. Everybody left the lessons feeling confident and super excited to start surfing by themselves. These guys are really passionate about surfing. We had an epic time learning from them and are already planning to take more lessons in the new year. Thanks heaps!
This has been the highlight of my summer! I honestly could not recommend Trav and the team enough! Each lesson the team will set you up, talk you through the conditions of the water and what the waves are doing so you are well prepared before entering. The South Pac instructors are always right next to you paddling out and will show you which waves to catch, how to position yourself and may even give you a little push onto the wave so you’re guaranteed to catch a few ; I always feel super safe out there with them which has helped speed up my progression. I can now catch waves on my own, turn and my general confidence in the water has increased big time!! The team has created such a supportive environment that we now have a SouthPac Surf Sister family so we can surf together outside of the lessons. Thanks sooo much Trav, Brent, Kurt, and Georgia your knowledge and support has been invaluable.
Travis, Paddy and the team were fabulous to deal with. Great communication from the moment of booking lessons, through to buying a board. The guys had a great rapport and sense of humour with our novice surf kids 10 & 12, who gained heaps from their 3 consecutive private lessons. Would 100% recommend. We’ll be back!
I signed up my 6 year old daughter to one of their surf holiday camps in the school holidays and she had the BEST time! Travis and the team were absolutely epic, she rode her very first wave, paddled around leisure island starfish hunting, loved the games and hill boarding and is begging to go back again next week. Really loved how comfortable she felt with this crew and all the new experiences she had. Really nice genuine people who are really great with kids
