BOPS&C is a fitness centre for all levels. We house a community of fitness oriented businesses aimed to give our members access to everything they need.
Welcome to Bay of Plenty Strength and Conditioning, we are the home to some awesome fitness clubs and facilities. Our goal is to make a fitness centre that helps everyone, from the grandparent wanting to stay strong to play with their grandkids, to the police or firefighters wanting to improve their fitness so they can do their job, to the top level athlete training to get better at their sport.
Our Gym
We are a one stop fitness centre, we have a machines and free weights gym designed to help anyone build muscle, tone up or lose weight.
Nutrition
Nutrition is something we specialise in. We have staff that are trained in specialised holistic and traditional styles of nutrition so they can relate with everyone and work nutritional programs that send you on the right path to the exact results you want. Weight loss, weight gain, heath concerns, we can deal with these problems and help you get back to a healthier way of living.
Yoga and Massage
We have Soma Massage and Yoga, an Ashtanga style yoga school run by Paul Scriven. Paul also specialises in Thai massage and sports mobility, Paul is amazing at stretching out muscles, mobilising joints and healing injuries. Paul Works on a lot sports athletes and gym goers.
Strength and Conditioning
Next up we have Mount CrossFit, Tauranga's original CrossFit conditioning gym. Lukey (the owner) is one of two people in New Zealand to have made it to the 2011, 2012, 2013, and 2014 Australasian CrossFit regionals, proof that the way they train is second to none. The trainers here are some of the most experienced CrossFitters in the country and are extremely knowledgeable when it comes to strength and conditioning methodologies, movement, rehabilitation and nutrition. Lukey is an ex military trainer with over eight years of fitness knowledge and experience. They run awesome bootcamps too!
Olympic Lifting
We are proud to house 'Bay of Plenty Barbell’ Bay of Plenty's original Olympic lifting club. This club is sanctioned by ‘Olympic Weightlifting New Zealand’ (OWNZ), they train sports athletes in power training and Olympic lifting, they also send members to national Olympic lifting competitions. The trainers are extremely knowledgeable in teaching you how to lift safety and efficiently, Grant Cavit is the head trainer for Bay of Plenty Barbell. Grant is an Oceania competitor and still holds the 94kg National record for the snatch (155kg).
Physios
We work very closely with Nigel from the Spine and Knee Advanced physio and reconditioning clinic on Cameron road. Nigel has a consultation room with us so he can look after all our members and any other clients from around the area. Nigel and his team are different from your average physio, they are experienced in techniques that no one else in the region and country is and they work closely with our athletes learning how they need to move and fixing their body’s so the last longer in their sports.
