Was recommended to use Bay of island water taxi so I could do the Cape Brett Hike. Bob and his skipper took me to Deep water cove and picked me up after i have finished the hike. Bob is very knowledgeable about the history of the local area which I enjoyed learning about. I would highly recommend using Bay of island water taxi. I'll definitely be using them again when I'm back up Northland next to do a different trek in the area as it was a lovely drive. Thank you Bob, Louise and your whānau for making me feel welcome. I was able to leave some things in there fridge and collect them when i returned. I also used there facilities and my car was left there with no issues.
BOI Water Taxis tailored our trip for us, were incredibly responsive to our enquiries and were prompt, helpful, friendly and safe. A great kiwi family-run business. Will definitely be back! Ngā mihi nui guys.
We made a last minute booking with Bob & Louise they were so accommodating. They even came over early to pick us up as we finished our walk earlier than expected. Bob had some great stories about the Bay of Islands and it’s history.
Make sure you give yourself plenty of time, it was bigger than we realized. This is very well laid out, take the free map & work your way through. Friendly, helpful staff. Well worth the visit.
After an amazing hike to the Cape Brett hut we quickly decided to take the water taxi back. Bob and Louise were responsive and accommodating, and able to take 10 of us back to Rawhiti in two boat loads. It was more than a taxi service with a tour of the Hole in the Rock and Cathedral, not to mention Bob educating us about the areas history and culture. Well worth it, thanks Bob!
Bob is an absolute legend! Picked us up from Cape Brett after a very long walk. Happily changed our pick up spot last minute and was extremely accommodating. The knowledge Bob has about the Maori culture and history was amazing to hear. Would highly recommend his water taxi service to anyone!
Our group of 6 stayed at Bob and Louise's homestay on Saturday night before departing on the Cape Brett Peninsula Walk. We loved their warm hospitality, freshly prepared seafood platter for dinner and comfortable accommodation. Its a magical spot. Bob picked us up by boat on Monday morning from the lighthouse and took us through the hole in the rock before heading back to Rawhiti. His storytelling and sharing of local knowledge was fascinating. We highly recommend staying here.
Bob took us back to Russell after we spent the night in Cape Brett. He was really helpful as he accepted to pick us up from the Cape rather than Deep Water Cove at an earlier time as we were too exhausted to walk back. We cruised around the little islands in front of the Cape as Bob explained us the history and Maori traditions around them. I’d highly recommend this service provided by truly local people!!
