Bay of Islands SPCA

About

Visit www.spca.nz for more information about the Bay Of Islands SPCA.

Story

The Bay of Islands SPCA is part of Royal New Zealand Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. It is a voluntary organisation which, through its 48 district branches across the country, provides help to animals and owners 24 hours a day, seven days a week, although the public should expect only genuine emergencies to be dealt with outside normal working hours.

We rely almost entirely on the generosity of the public to carry out our life-saving work. The majority of our income comes from donations, bequests and our own fundraising efforts.

We have a Dog & Cat Shelter - we offer the community a 24/7 emergency service - we are a very small SPCA, we have two Inspectors covering 7 24/7 emergency service.

At the BOI SPCA we're not just about cats and dogs - we take in or care for all animals and work with many agencies to ensure all those sick and or injured are given the best care we can provide.

Thank you for your ongoing care and support.

Very friendly and competent staff who really care. The 2 cats I took home had been there for more than 8 months but weren’t scared, very cuddly and loving from the start and looked healthy fur and bodyweight. All my questions where answered with competence.
Very clean tidy home for the cats and kittens in their care helpful staff
A very professionally run and welcoming organization. I'm a first time pet owner, so was understandably a bit nervous and had various questions. The advice and support has been fantastic, both at the center and being available to answer any question at any time.
Reported a neglected animal but felt like it was a waste of time. Have called and called. Someone will contact you, they say... Its been weeks. Don't support these people, there's Animal Refuge who are far more interested and competent
Very Helpful and Obviously the Staff Care About the Animals in there Care.
Those who work at the far north SPCA are so compassionate not only towards the animals, but as human beings. It is a pleasure to interact with the employees here who clearly care so genuinely for the welfare of all animals in our region.
Great staff, obviously care very much for their animals.
Caring people.
Great cause that everyone should help in any way they can.
