Beautiful place… enjoyed watching sunset here… absolutely loved it. It’s a great spot for photography as well as proposals etc but I think council permission is needed. Must visit to see the beautiful garden and an amazing view.
Lovely location with beautiful views. Fortunately saved from mass development by the Maori's.nUnfortunately, we didn't stay long enough to fully appreciate it's beauty.
Peaceful and historic spot with incredible views across the Waitematā Harbour and Rangitoto Island. Great place to walk, relax, or reflect. The open grassy space and well-kept gardens make it perfect for a quiet break just minutes from the city.
Great location this is where Groom proposed to bride for the first time. Absolutely amazing when we saw this great decoration with lovely environment.
Bastion Point is located in Mission Bay. The Hop on Hop Off Bus can take you there. I took the city bus so I had to walk uphill for about 20 minutes. It was worth it. I love the tree with the red flowers. New Zealanders call these there Christmas trees. There is a monument dedicated to Michael Savage who was the first Labour Party Prime Minister. I also went to a talk earlier in the week with a Maori representative who talked about the lands and tribes. There's a lot of history here, and it's beautiful. I spent about an hour walking the grounds, enjoying the views, and sitting in the gardens. There is no entry fee to visit Bastion Point. Highly recommend. If you go by city bus, there is a bus stop at the entrance.
