Very authentic, beautiful flavours, I had the Tartufata pizza-Portobello mushrooms,truffle oil, smoked paprika Porcini cream base, mozzarella. Awesome.
We are from out of town and couldn't find a venue for a 13th birthday as everyone booked out. Basilico offered us a reserved table. We got lost and were 1/2 hour late but the table was still held for us. Offered us plates at a usual only takeaway place.nDelicious food and very friendly people. Will definitely go again when back in town.
The pizza was beautiful, lovely thin base, chewy crust, and quality toppings. Unfortunately our group wasn’t a fan of the lasagna, two of them went into the bin. Owner let us know that this is the traditional way to make Italian lasagna, little sauce and meat. The ratio wasn’t what was expected, nor the taste.nnWe would recommend for the pizza and tiramisu!
Review for Rustica Mount Maunganui: We've tried their pizza several times before and were impressed by its authenticity to Italian pizza. However, our latest experience was disappointing. Since they've gained popularity, the quality seems to have dropped.nnWe ordered a few pizzas, but most were burnt and made with poor-quality ingredients. The taste was reminiscent of Domino's pizza, which was surprising given the premium price point.nnUnfortunately, we won't be returning due to the significant decline in quality.
Best Pizza in New Zealand!nAll the raw materials come from Italy even including the burning woods. The prosciutto tasted fresh and much better than the one imported from Italy which you could find in New World supermarket. The food, the owner and the chef- Michele are 100% Italy. Definitely a place must go!
