I first came across Johny’s services after noticing his security sticker on one of my tenant’s windows. The tenant recommended him as a reliable technician, so I reached out regarding some work I needed done. My request included connecting my CCTV system to my phone, and repairing my main entrance solar-powered gate and intercom.nnFrom the outset, Johny gave me the impression that the equipment could be repaired, though he strongly suggested replacing it. This immediately raised concerns, as my equipment is less than a year old. His recommendations felt more like a sales pitch than genuine technical advice.nnDespite these concerns, I contracted Johny to carry out the repairs. Unfortunately, the results were highly disappointing. Johny issued a very questionable invoice, including charges for “offsite labour,” yet he did not fix a single aspect of my system.nnIn my experience, Johny demonstrated poor technical knowledge, misleading advice, and questionable billing practices. I would strongly caution others to carefully consider alternatives before engaging his services.
I was very fortunate to receive Jonnie's help when I encountered an issue. His optimistic, proactive, friendly, and professional attitude was truly memorable. He always manages to solve problems across various professional fields with expertise. I highly recommend him.

I have a warning for those looking at using Balloch Security. I had a system that had previously been installed by another installer. Jonnie was asked to come in and do a review of the system including the cameras installed and propose a series of solutions to the following the issues. The issues primarily were - an intercom that was only partly working, an inability to remotely log into the system, scheduling of notifications and use of the target size function. Jonnie assured us he could rectify the problems because he was an expert. He identified the intercom was an old one with old firmware but assured us it would work with a firmware upgrade and reset. As a result of his promises, I engaged him to return and complete the fixes he suggested. We engaged Jonnie on a time and cost contract. He has charged us just under $2500 and all the same problems still remain. I refused to pay his second bill until he actually fixed some of the issues because it became apparent he didn't really know what he was doing and I was becoming concerned at the apparent lack of progress. At that point despite me promising to pay the second invoice once the issues were fixed he took me to the disputes tribunal because the most recent account was unpaid. He then issued a 3rd invoice for hours supposedly performed at home and included that in the disputes tribunal claim. The outcome of the disputes tribunnal was that I had to pay because he was engaged on a time and cost contract and as such I was bound to pay for his time and cost. So here is my WARNING. If you engage Jonnie on a time and cost CONTRACT he can bill you AND will bill you what he likes and you will have to pay even if he is unable to complete the work. Additionally, he reinstalled our router and forgot to install the in-line fuse. As a result the router blew up and had to be replaced which we had done by a far more competent person because he forgot to put in the fuse. Amazingly he refused to reimburse us for the cost. The reality is he is clearly the type of person and operator who is happy to bill for hours done after promising he could sort the issues despite not having the skill to achieve any kind of tangible outcome. And one more warning He charges 9% interest per MONTH in his terms and conditions so if you dispute something as I did the interest charge charged is extreme.
