I have known Heather a very long time and she is an amazing person, which translates to her level of care. I've been seeing Heather at Balanced Acupuncture for over a year now and she has been nothing short of amazing! She has made appointments not on the calendar for me for last minute appointments as I was getting treatment for a medical condition. Not only has she been a healer of physical ailments, but she has been a great support system during some very stressful points in my life - my medical issue and professional changes. If you are hesitant on acupuncture I was once a skeptic just give a try and I promise you - it will change your life. These sessions have been physically and emotionally healing. I even have fallen asleep a few times during my treatments.

Balanced Acupuncture is by far the best place for acupuncture in the Lehigh Valley and Poconos! Heather is caring, compassionate and has the expertise to treat you effectively. She has managed my chronic inflammation for years and kept the arthritis pain in my foot from a car accident in check so I can avoid more surgery as long as possible. Even if you just need to release stress and rebalance, look no further than Balanced Acupuncture. You will be so glad you went!
So recently, I have had some severe physical issues with intense pain. The only modality I hadn’t tried previously was Acupuncture. After researching, and speaking with medical professionals I was recommended to Ms Shoup, at Balanced Acupuncture in Bethlehem. I am now basically medication free for the pain and my mobility has increased and I believe that Miss Shoup’s treatments are partly to thank for that. Miss Shoup is highly educated, professional, very friendly, and genuinely concerned about a persons well-being. Balanced Acupuncture is a comfortable, calm, clean environment. And no, the needles do not hurt. Addendum- It’s now June 1 and I haven’t had acupuncture for a couple months. Why? Not because it didn’t work because it did. However, balanced Acupuncture will no longer except any insurance. Hunh!!
Heather is an incredible acupuncturist and person. I started seeing her 6 months ago for various health conditions including GI, mental, muscle, and spine. All of my issues are significantly better or completely resolved. Absolutely life changing, I highly recommend for any health condition that you have been struggling to maintain or resolve. Also, I sent my Mom to her to help with her various chronic conditions. She absolutely loved it. Also, the following morning my Mom woke up with her sense of smell back, which she lost almost two years ago because of COVID. Bonus benefit!!! Thank you so much Heather

I was diagnosed five years ago with Ménière’s disease and I just didn’t know what to do Ménière’s disease is severe vertigo and balance, so I went through the yellow pages and I found this acupuncturist called Balanced Acupuncture on Broadhead Road in Bethlehem and I said I’m going to give it a try I heard good things about acupuncture so I made an appointment and boy am I glad I did, it will be four years in July that I am seeing Heather, all I can say is Heather Shoup Is a miracle worker if it wasn’t for her I probably would still be in a wheelchair, she had me go from a wheelchair then to a walker and then a cane! Heather is not only a Fantastic Acupuncturist she is also a Fantastic Person!!!!
After 4 to 5 years of nausea and vomiting after eating, I decided as a last resort to try acupuncture. I was neither a believer nor did I know anyone that had done acupuncture. After 3 sessions, I saw a noticeable difference in how often I had nausea/vomiting. Now, after 7 sessions, I'm eating normally, am never nauseated and have only been sick vomiting 2 or 3 times. I can't believe this worked for me. I had been to my family doc, surgeon and a gastro intestinal specialist. No one knew what to do to help me. This has been a real miracle for me as I had given up hope of ever enjoying eating again. Thank you, Heather, you're awesome.
Thank You Heather! I was in excruciating pain for 7 months from a herniated disc. Steroid injections & physical therapy helped some, but the pain in my hips & legs was keeping me awake & making it hard to be active. After several visits to you, I climbed Niagra Falls at Cave of the Winds! So thankful for you and your talent.
