Bake Love - Desserts & Cakes

So happy that I found this bakery. I needed an American cake and not being a baker and far from achieving anything in baking , I was so relieved that Stoney Clove had one cake left. Red Velvet! Exactly what I needed. I also purchased oatmeal raisin cookies as well. Everything was delicious. It's a tiny place and the ladies hustle to get their goodies out. Love this place, I'll definitely be going back and will also order in advance.

To me here is definitely overrated! One the cakes that I order to judge a bakery is Carrot Cake for a lot of reasons! To cut it short, baking a carrot cake is not a rocket science at all and quite a regilar choice in a lot of bakeries but doing it right and professionally makes a huge difference in terms of taste and texture! So what I ate here was like a bunch of sugar with a bit of cake. each and every bite of the cake I could taste and feel the texture of sugar particles in my mouth! At last, American choice of food and desert is not just about it's taste but also the portion which should represent the generosity and greatness of America with it which was totally vice versa in what I got! Totally disappointed!!

Absolutely loved Clove Bakery. Staff is talented, polite - very sweet people. And just look at what they’ve been able to cook almost last-minute notice! An amazingly tasty chocolate birthday cake - guests were beyond happy

These literally are some of the best cookies you’ll ever find, no joke. They’re so perfect for a little treat, you need to try their famous chocolate chip cookie, it will change your life.

They probably mite have delicious cookies or other treats but kindly, be more polite and show more professional attitude towards your clients. Was completely shocked by this particularly one staff member who proudly say she is a pastry student from the prestigious school of Le cordon blue paris... Disappointed with the our birthday cake but more disappointed with how they treated us at the bakery.

I was appalled of how I was treated in your shop today. You put all these big advertisement on your insta page saying that you have reopened today and you have a selection of cake. I came in and wanted a red velvet cake. One of your employees mumbles something with the girl who served us, I still got my red velvet but my two friends who wanted the chocolate cake couldn’t get what they wanted. Your employee very aggressively said that’s not possible as someone might but the whole cake. WHY ADVERTISE YOUR CAKE IF NOT SELL THEM?! I am very disappointed and I won’t come again.

I had been to Paris once before and my brother-in-law was so disappointed I had not checked out Clove per his top recommendation… I knew coming back I had to make it a part of my agenda. I awkwardly showed up late as it was getting close to closing hour and they were so catering to me I was able to try a few things and take a goodie box home to the hotel… Everyone was incredible and everything was delicious. Clove was my favorite breakfast right from the hotel!

So I was following google maps trying to reach some friends. I look around to check if I’m heading in the right direction, when I noticed the most appetising cakes on display in this tiny bakery. Under which, was a sign advertising cookies... i had some time on my hands and was craving a bit of chocolate, so why not. The receptionist saw me glaring at the cakes through the window and smiled, I went in and asked if their still open, to which she replied that they close in 5 mins and that all that is left are a few, amazing looking, cupcakes, some cookies, and that one single corner piece brownie, how can I resist. To be honest I found it a bit pricy; maybe it’s because of the location of the bakery or the quality of the ingredients, but, for 4.5 euros that brownie should be exceptional, nonetheless. WAS NOT DISAPPOINTED The brownie is fudgy and very chocolaty. It tastes homemade. It is not too sweet and not too bitter that burnt chocolate aftertaste you get from failed brownie batches. I have been craving such a brownie for so long, yet with no luck, most bakeries have a weird cardboardy, chemical, after taste to their products, but, not this one. I will be coming back very soon and bringing some friends along, I would love to taste their cookies and cupcakes as well. Sadly I couldn't take any photos, but would definitely take some next time. In a city where classic pâtisserie is what people are mainly seeking, I often find myself yearning for classic American treats like cupcakes, pies and cakes. You would think that the French bakers could easily make something as simple as a cupcake. They have tried many times but they get it totally wrong and don’t even come close. They also don’t understand the simplicity and beauty of the fruit pie. I felt hopeless for a really long time that I could enjoy these American pâtisserie classics that are overshadowed by the French ones. Then I happened to stumble upon Stoney Clove Bakery. Not only did they have the cakes, pies, brownies, and all the indulgences I missed so much, but they are next level amazing in what they make. When I have surprised French people with something like a red velvet cupcake, you see that look in their eye when they take their first bite. It’s their realization that they have never really had a cupcake before and this is what we Americans were trying to tell them about. Stoney Clove Bakery is the legit real deal and they may be small but what they make is truly magic. Red Velvet cake is my favorite, but in the summertime the pies are heavenly and a great addition to a picnic.

Some of the best treats we have ever found! The taste, the texture and the perfect proportion of sweetness. We bought a couple of cookies, and they were so delicious, so that we took a full box of cookies and brownies later!
