Polyfest is the world's largest and most competitive Pacific cultural competition held annually in Auckland, New Zealand.
With over 20 competing schools in the co-ed category, the Avondale College Samoan Group has placed in the Top 3 for 16 years consecutively. The group has won the competition 10 times, 9 of those wins in a row.

Avondale College Board of Trustees member; Nua Silipa was the founder and pioneer of the Samoan Group. She was succeeded by the late; Semau Melaine Sagala-Timoteo who led the group to 10 championships. Rest in love.
The tutorship comprises of Phillip Keleti (Aus), Thomas Fonotoe and former Avondale College students; Helen Pita-Taunga (Dubai), Fa'avae Nomani (Aus), Lucky Afoa (Aus), Sagele Amosa (Aus), Fale Ane (Aus), Lance Ainofo and Seumanu Simon Matāfai.
Recently, assistant tutors; Thomas Karanikolaou, Junior Soqeta, Evotia Fuimaono, Danielle Lesātele and Charis Eneliko have contributed to the creative process.
The current teacher-in-charge is Year 11 Dean, Mathematics and Samoan language teacher; Mr Timoteo.
