Story

Polyfest is the world's largest and most competitive Pacific cultural competition held annually in Auckland, New Zealand.

With over 20 competing schools in the co-ed category, the Avondale College Samoan Group has placed in the Top 3 for 16 years consecutively. The group has won the competition 10 times, 9 of those wins in a row.

Avondale College Board of Trustees member; Nua Silipa was the founder and pioneer of the Samoan Group. She was succeeded by the late; Semau Melaine Sagala-Timoteo who led the group to 10 championships. Rest in love.

The tutorship comprises of Phillip Keleti (Aus), Thomas Fonotoe and former Avondale College students; Helen Pita-Taunga (Dubai), Fa'avae Nomani (Aus), Lucky Afoa (Aus), Sagele Amosa (Aus), Fale Ane (Aus), Lance Ainofo and Seumanu Simon Matāfai.

Recently, assistant tutors; Thomas Karanikolaou, Junior Soqeta, Evotia Fuimaono, Danielle Lesātele and Charis Eneliko have contributed to the creative process.

The current teacher-in-charge is Year 11 Dean, Mathematics and Samoan language teacher; Mr Timoteo.

Juniors are made to sit on the floor during assembly and told to sit back down and get up again if they dont get up fast enough. Toilets are always full of students, and if they aren't full, they are locked. This school is not built for 3000 students. Kids are taken out of learning to send messages for teachers, which you can easily do with a phone.
disgusting bathrooms which are constantly destroyed, both teachers and students are disrespectful and racist. i wouldnt wish this on my worst enemy! dont send your kids here makes me want to die

this school is good if you want to be looked at whilst taking a poo i recommend going into the a block toilets if you want to walk through puddle of pee have fun trying to eat your lunch when the year 11s are vaping in your face, if you like being barked at by satanic unstable people who dress like animals this is a good school for that
I love having sumo battles in the changing rooms with all the big dudes : This school is great if you are reckless. The bathrooms are also incredible with year 11’s trying to break into your cubical and look at your Willy. If you like walking through puddles of piss you should use the toilets often. The water fountains have bird poop to add the extra flavour to the sewage water, and some of them are at the power of a water blaster and look like they are irected. I like listening to the kids in the library fighting about who is smarter in all their subjects.
Based on the reviews its bad but then also good so maybe try it out?
The most violence school and racism around, very disappointed about school management, never do thier job, our kids not safe, deputy principles kept mucking me around, asked them to tell me how to make a formal complaint and they simply refused

I recommend going here only if you know you’re not going to be distracted by other students and you know you can work and listen well. just like any other school, this school has its flaws too. First of all, you will often see kids vaping in the school toilets which obviously happens in other schools too but this by far has to be the worst. Mostly because you see a group of 3-4 just casually hanging out there and vaping, what’s worse is that they skip class just to do so. The toilets are very dirty and is occasionally under maintenance because of how disrespectful the students are. Mostly the boys Most of the deans are just horrible. The deans do not care about what you have to say and don’t even bother to listen at all. The things I like and enjoy about this school so far is that the teachers I’ve had were very kind and would help you as long as you listen. Which has led me to believe that there is no such thing as a bad teacher.. Every teacher is good as long as you listen and do your work on time. The principal is very chill and is not too strict like some principals I’ve had in other schools. I like the uniforms but I prefer the pants and shorts to be black than grey. I don’t mind the no jewellery rule and the no hats and scarfs inside, but I’ve noticed that some students don’t like it. While I’m at this school, I’ll continue to do my best and hopefully some things change. Overall: Principal: 10/10 a great example of what a principal should be like simply my opinion, those who disagree, I don’t care. Deans: 2/10 they do not care whatsoever Teachers: 9/10 Janitors: 10/10 actually does their job properly Students: 3/10 horrible although you will find very cool people sometimes. Toilets: 4/10 because of the students Library: 10/10 a chill place to relax and maybe complete some unfinished work.
