Using this facility is like looking in a candy store.nYou never know what you will get. It can be hit & miss.nOn average I get around 7/10 re care knowledge supportnI get from TRN & NP you guyss rock. I have been experiencing respiratory issues for nearly 10wks now. With no out come.nI had to go to Hawera ED to get treatment had 5 tx there.nI finally have a referral to outpatient services which is good.nOne thing that does concern me is the non stop demanding $ the fact that refusal of payment will impeed care.nWe are in a quiet depression & a cost of living crisis compounded with covid.
Great staff…from the receptionists through to the nurses and the doctors. Caring, kind group of people. Thank you for looking after me.
I highly DO NOT recommend this medical centre because my sister is in hospital due to a lower back problem from 13 years ago that was put through the Avon medical centre 13 years ago! And all they did was say it was wiplash injury and sent her home with pain medication, keep in mind she has been in and out of hospital and doctors all theses years just to be sent home with drugs that are only going to work for a matter of time right. This month she woke up one morning not being able to walk or even move and was taken into hospital to be told that she has to have a surgery that could possibly have the outcome of her never being able to walk or have no feeling from her hips down, in my eyes this isn’t good enough and is disgusting because this injury could’ve been picked up when it first happened and it wasn’t! Avon medical staff and doctors have fail my sister and it’s disgusting she’s only 26 and she has high chance of never being able to walk all because Avon medical care and staff couldn’t do there job right!nThis isn’t good enough!
Now that all the good doctors are gone it's down to few that leave in a few months. I asked to come in to be checked after dropping 20kg on my foot experiencing black/purple brusing and swelling. All to be told by a nurse it sounded fine after describing this and that it hurt to put covered in shoes. Didn't even bother to run an xray just in case. Lazy.
Nurses and reception are great, but everything else is a constant frustration. Booked phone consultations where the doctor never calls, never see the same doctor twice. Long waits to get an appointment. Prescriptions not sent through to the pharmacy when they said they would. I wish I could change but there's not really another close option.
