100% one of the best places I have ever stayed and I travel for work and stay in lots of hotels. Amazing location and exceptional value for money. Would never stay anywhere else when visiting Kerikeri. The ducks and natural swim pond, spa and sauna were also very cool.
Arrived at night, no light on sign out front hard to see, so many potholes on road to resort hardly any lighting down long long drive. No milk or water provided in fridge, sugar coffee etc there on arrival but not replaced at all, concrete floors throughout so very cold feet not one mat and no carpet at all, NO room service at all but 4 & 1/2 stars on website? Shower drain blocked so shower tray full of water with seal broken on door. Staff seemed nice but when asked about room service new towels etc said “no room service here” Paid $500+ for 3 nights. Lovely views and nice location just disappointing.
Stayed last night and my biggest regret is not staying a few more. Lovely large room, incredible shower and a wonderful relaxed atmosphere.nLovely evening swim in the pool. Brad the owner was very helpful with any inquiry.
I booked Avalon Resort for a surprise weekend away for my partners 50th birthday. We were both surprised by the tranquil, bush setting as we drove in and still only being a 5 minute walk from the main town centre. When we arrived we were warmly welcomed and were given the opportunity to pick an upgrade if we wanted, which we appreciated. All amenities were explained to us thoroughly. This was a lovely unit with full kitchen, large bedroom and comfortable bed. We had direct access to the shared dining/BBQ area, spa, sauna and swimming pool. We made the most of the spa pool and the nice walks around the property. This was the best choice for a quiet, relaxing, replenishing weekend away.
The Avalon is a truly special resort. Driving down the small road, you arrive as if in a fairytale. The first thing you see is the pond with its many ducks and the chickens running around, followed by the little cottages. It's also right next to a river and beautifully nestled in nature.nWe had a room that had everything we needed. It's incredibly peaceful and even has a small swimming pond, currently inhabited by a duck :D.nThe owner was also incredibly kind, and we felt completely at ease. I was sad when we had to leave after just two nights because it was simply a truly special place to stay.
