The lady I spoke to today was very unhelpful and did not seem to know much about hydroponics. All good there are lots of hydroponic shops now. 05/08/2022 In response to the owners response. It sounds like you got the sanitised version of the phone call dude and I will not remove it and stand by it completely as it is an accurate reflection of the conversation.. It is clear that you are making some assumptions about the situation that are wrong, if your employee had acted like a adult and let me speak and had not hung up on me like a rude spoiled child you would understand the situation. So because of that, your intimidation attempt is a fail and the review stays. In addition, when I first spoke to her I advised I was interested in experimenting with the Kratki method for my veggie garden as we are entering a period of food shortage which only needs a bucket with a lid, yet she started going on about expensive auto pots which I had no interest in or need of. This shows either her hydroponic knowledge is very little or she was trying to con me into buying expensive equipment I did not ask for or need. It was when I was asking about nutrients which I want to share with a young lady in need which was confusing me that she started her childishness so she could not even get that right when talking to you. If she had let me speak and not hung up on me, and then said something like "sorry I can not help you" then it would have been a satisfactory phone call. But she did not and it was not. People with terminal illnesses have a legal defence as I was trying to explain but could not because she would not let me speak and the young lady I am trying to help does not have the time needed to deal with such a rude unknowledgeable unhelpful business such as yours so I have no interest in calling you to discuss anything. Like I said above there are lots of hydroponics shops now and I got the help I needed elsewhere.
This little shop is huge for service, accurate information and willingness to help. We love supporting local and when the experience really good it's not hard to. Bought auto pots for son in law and no problem for them to arrange course to Christchurch and add lots of information to get him started. Great range of seeds and other garden necessities. Love it
Extremely helpful staff that got me sorted super fast with hosing that I couldn't find anywhere. Had it to me super fast and efficiently. Love this shop, well worth having a look and definitely worth buying from them.
The staff and of course the four legged staff are all very helpful. They know their stuff too. I love going to Otaki Hydroponics for advice on my garden. They can supply the tools I need to get the job done. I have also had them install a water tank and they did a great job. Thank you very much.
Bit out of the way for me. But they sell the grow pots and supplies I use. They have their systems working outside in the garden which helps if you're wondering how well they work. Have a reasonable supply of King seeds, compost and growing mediums. Level of knowledge in staff a bit variable
I always hurried past and decided to take my time for a change and stop at Otaki Hydroponics to see what it is all about. I was pleasantly surprised with the shop, the products available, the four legged friends hanging about and the absolute great service. Of all the local businesses I have visited, I have always been treated like a customer wants to be treated, friendly, helpful and to just have a lovely chat about what is happening in our gardens. There is a huge amount of information and expertise available for novices like myself, and we should use this wealth of information from the people who have loads of experience in this area at Otaki Hydroponics.
Awesome place!!! The staff are very friendly, helpfully and knowledgable. The shop is set out really well and finding exactly what you need is a breeze. There is always help on hand no matter what your gardening needs. Highly recommended!!! Thanks Otaki Hydroponics you're the best in the business.
Absolutely fan-bloody-tastic! The staff really know there stuff and are really helpful. They have a wide range of easy gardening equipment for homes with not a lot of land to set up a garden. Who knew gardening was so simple? Well done Otaki Hydroponics you have made a costumer for life!

I have always found the staff friendly and helpful. I love the range of kings seeds and having great success with our Auto pots. We still have an aubergine and capsicums growing in our greenhouse using the auto pot systems. I think the plants only take what they need so no chance of root rot...
