Autocrat Joinery

We have had our red dog door now for 8 years and it's great, not sure about the other reviewer but we sealed our with Sikkens. Autocrat also did our designer kitchen and bathroom vanities. Will continue to use them.

RedDog Doors – don't get one! It looks lovely but warps. It was warped on install, and has continued to get worse over the last 10 months, there is now an 8mm gap at the bottom of the door. The use and care instructions on the RedDog website say "RED DOG" timber doors must be sealed completely, painted or varnished at least two coats on all six faces top, bottom, sides, front and back before hanging.” We sealed the Red Dog door before installation as per these instructions. When contacted about the warping and growing gap, we were informed that the door had warped for two reasons – we had not sealed with the correct product it should have been a flexible product apparently and the heat difference between inside and outside is too great which is causing the warping. Umm, I was pretty sure that doors were supposed to keep the cold out, and the heat in? And if indeed the door is particular to a certain type of stain, you really should mention that on the care instructions. Lessons: 1. Don’t get a Red Dog door unless you like your new home to have a lovely cold draft though it. 2. If you do get one and something is not quite right, don’t expect these people to look after you. They have no care for good customer service. You will be on your own. A big thumbs down for Autocrat Joinery/RedDog Doors
