Delicious food. Great big play area for kids out the back. Comfy seats. Great service. Just what a roadside diner should be. Kid-friendliness: Big play area out the back.
I have been really busy this labour weekend with my 3rd trip to Auckland. Travelling back home I decided to call into Autobahn for a quick meal. After ordering my I found a seat. The barista made my long black and as she was bringing it to me she spilt a very small amount of coffee. I told her not to worry about it, but she said, “it’s not up to my usual standards, I’ll make you another”. Wow, you don’t hear that much anymore. The all-day breakfast was yummy and the coffee strong and hot, just how I like it.
Nice big brekky. Smoothie was delish too. Great last stop for brekky or lunch before heading over the Bombays on a long trip. Fill up both stomach and car. Food: 4/5
Stopped in here on my way south. Sick and tired of fast food options so we headed in here. Helpful staff heated my baby food and made small adjustments to miss 6s meal. Food came out in good time. Was tasty and freshly made. Similar type meal to one you can make yourself at home. Restaurant was clean and tidy. One negative was there were not any dairy free options. The waitress didn't seem sure what that restriction meant but offered to check with the chef. But usually if there isn't any labeled options it makes the risk of hidden dairy too high.
Great famiry restaurant, fast service. No one shouted at our naughty kids. Best hash browns. Oil tasted clean. Staff were very friendly. Good strong coffee. Prepped for the next four hours on the road!Food: 4/5
Useful meet point for sojourns south. Bacon eggs baked beans sausage, very cheap and tasty. Coffee good. It's a service centre cafe, so obviously the ambience is noisy, busy and austere. Food and service is good.
It is handy for travelers and the service was friendly although forgot that I had asked for my coffee after my meal. A few minutes later he brought the coffee before the meal was delivered. Not a biggie. The coffee was ok but only warm by the time my meal arrived but the bacon & egg hollandaise sauce was so dry I couldn’t eat it. The bagel was stale, the ‘sauce’ was a bare smear on only half of the top. The single egg was dry and over cooked and the bacon was also very minimal. I doubt I’d come back
We always stop by Autobahn for a quick breakfast whenever we are travelling down south. Coffee was just alright but we did not expect much too. Their big breakfast comes in big portion which is very filling and great deal. They offer a wide range of food selection from cabinet food to mains which is good for a family with kids.
