Auranga is an innovative housing development set on the upper reaches of Drury Creek one of the estuaries of the Manukau Harbour. It is designed with residents in mind with many green fields, and some very pleasant walks. A nearby commercial centre is yet to be built. The development combines single detached units with multi level terraced housing. The development has yet to mature.
Development is going at its highest rate, roads are narrow and at one point I stopped feeling that I will hit the opposite car. The infrastructure is similar to Paerata Raise but sections are smaller than Paerata raise and the price is touching sky.
At first glance I thought this park was way too small, but it's ready pretty with interesting activities. My kids especially enjoyed the musical orb, which plays about 6 different tunes. Has a couple of mini tramps, climbing wall...Make sure kids have long pants if they plan on using the metal slide on a hot day. Also, it's not fenced yet so a high level of supervision is needed for little ones near the bank.
Love the playground for the littlies, and the walks around the boardwalk are beautiful. Looking forward to the eco islands being opened in the future. Right now it's great fun taking the kids down to the empty fields full of wild flowers, rabbits and grasshoppers. So much to explore and the grass is so long it's a real adventure for explorers. Love it so much we moved here.
No parking along the street, and no parking for visitors to come and visit. It seems that the person who developed the area didnt take into consideration, family or friend who would like to visit, very disappointing to say the least, will be moving away due to this very reason, and will not be recommending this area to anyone who seeks a quiet community. The burnouts down the road late hours of the morning are annoying also and stop you from getting a decent nights rest. Also there's no place for kids to play, it feels like robot town, no one does anything, everyone looks miserable, to be honest, there's nothing homely about this place. The cafe and walkways are good, but I've spoken to a neighbour and they've said they havn't had the warmest reception from people on the walking track.
