Auckland Art Gallery

Really well put together gallery that is completely free. Fabulous. Definitely worth a stop on your Auckland itinerary. The Coastlines exhibition was great, as is the modernist collection upstairs. Don't miss the great shop for fun gifts and souvenirs.

Had a quick visit to see the Robertson Collection. Really enjoyed the variety of artists and subjects in the collection. The gallery was easy to find and navigate around. Plus the Robertson Collection is free to visit. My favourite painting is in the photos with this review. Planning another visit to see the Modernist exhibition starting in June.

Very beautiful gallery. I visited twice on my trip to Auckland while there was an exhibit focused on contemporary New Zealand artists. Wide ranging collection with a lot of thought-provoking and beautiful works, with many of them showcasing the culture!

I visited on the weekend for the art gallery & Olafur Eliasson exhibit then came back on a Tuesday night for their yoga experience. This was by far one of my favorite things I did while in Auckland, all the staff was so kind & Chrissie, the yoga instructor, was one of the best I’ve had.nnIf you have limited time in Auckland, I’d highly recommend making time to visit here.

So impressed at how accessible this art gallery is. It's free to visit unless you want to see a special exhibition which requires a ticket. They conduct free tours starting at 1:30pm on weekdays. They have a great creative learning centre and offer kids programming on the weekend.
