We are Wairarapa's leading architecture firm specialising in bespoke projects including new houses, winery restaurants & tourism developments.

Story

Victoria Read Architecture is a Wairarapa based architectural studio specialising in residential, hospitality and light commercial projects. We are currently working on a range of projects throughout the Wairarapa region.

All projects are developed using a flexible and collaborative approach to design. Each project is unique and the design process responds to the needs of the individual client and site. Ideas and solutions are created and developed throughout the process in order to generate an exciting architecture that is unique to the context .

We have a history of delivering innovative design solutions across a variety of projects including new rural and urban homes, historic building restorations, as well as retail and hospitality fit outs. Victoria Read Architecture offers a full architectural service from conceptual design ideas, through to consent documentation and contract administration. We are able to be involved in all stages of the design and construction process.

Victoria Read and Aspect Architecture have a fantastic name and reputation. I have had the pleasure of being in and seeing many homes that have been designed by them. They are able to take your vision and turn it into a stunning reality, whilst incorporating functionality for any stage of your life. Their expertise and attention to detail really shine through in the final design. I have found Vicki to be incredibly knowledgeable and willing to share that knowledge, as well as set the right expectations from the beginning. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a talented and professional architect.
We have worked with Vicky at Aspect, and more recently Jake, while trying to make our little Martinborough property work for us. Their patience, understanding of our brief, our aesthetic and our limitations resulted in amazing work, and we appreciated that they were always reigning us in when we got carried away with ideas and forgot our own budget! Vicky and Jake's familiarity with the local council and connections with local builders, engineers and specialists is super helpful and they worked through the design process in an efficient and meticulous manner. Unfortunately for us, we weren't able to see the plans become reality, as a tough decision needed to be made on whether this was the house worth us investing further in, but we have another project now in our sights and will no doubt be reaching out to the team at Aspect for help in 2024.
Vicky had the incredible ability to transform our ideas into the stunning home we wanted, making the most of the spectacular views of the Tararua's and on a natural building platform. Being local within the Wairarapa region, Vicky knows the area so well, the requirements from our local council and certain materials and structures. Our build was on time and within budget and being able to walk through in the 3D image, we felt exactly what the completed house was going to look like and this was achieved. Vicky's attention to detail was incredible and one of her major strengths. She is clear and direct and exactly what we wanted in an Architect. From concept to developed plans the team work hard to encapsulate your vision. They are dedicated to meeting the client brief and even during the building process the team remain accessible and fully engaged. Highly recommended!!
Vic's and Katie at Aspect Architecture were amazing - listened carefully to our needs, helped us navigate the way as "first timers" and brought a fantastic sense of style and practicality to the design. She's created a home that we still love 5 years on, that is standing the test of time as our children grow. Highly recommend!
Aspect Architecture designed an off-grid couples retreat for us - we have had numerous guests requesting to know who the architects were as they loved the excellent use of space and light. Aspect Architecture were easy to deal with, had great ideas and we are extremely happy with the end result!
We’ve be living in our stunning house just south of Martinborough now for 2 years and couldn’t be happier - beautifully designed and laid out for our local windy conditions. Build process and interactions with our builders Holmes also went super smoothly with only minimal stress. I’d highly recommend Vicky and the team at Aspect!!
