John and his partner were very welcoming and made us feel at home. Very accommodating to our needs and they have a beautiful home. Awesome service with a smile and all the tiredness from the long drive just disappeared when you're greeted with a friendly smile. Yummy breakfast and thank you John and your partner for everything. Sorry we didn't say goodbye after breakfast as we were in the rush. I recommend this accommodation to anyone if you're staying in Takapau. Clean and very spacious rooms and loved that they had a jar of biscuits for late night snacks with coffee available. Awesome scenery and enjoyed the fresh air.

Wonderful and picturesque place with amazing hosts. Take a step back in time in this historic homestead. The hosts have tonnes of knowledge of the facinating history of the place. Sitting by the open fireplace with a glass of wine and great company was the highlight. Thank you John and Giovanni!
John and Gio run the best B and B. Their home is beautiful and sumptuous and full of fantastic pieces that so suit this amazing historical home. So much to look at and enjoy. I can’t say enough how good this place is. A warm welcome is extended. Lovely peaceful surroundings in a rural setting.

From the moment we drove up the driveway and spotted the historic homestead, we knew we were going to be in for a real treat. My wife and I were shown around the beautiful homestead by John who took us to the Sunrise Room for our stay with them. Giovanni was outside tending to the grapevines and welcomed our offer to help him. Hopefully, we will have a return visit to sample some of the product. The egg omelettes for breakfast from the local chooks were great. Local towns of Waipukurau and Waipawa were not too far away as were the vineyards in Hawkes Bay.
Absolutely lovely. Beautiful villa, lovely grounds, so quiet and relaxing, beautifully furnished and the hosts Robert & Giovani and the best people, made you feel like you were friends. Highly recommended
