The palliative care as a whole in Ashburton is beyond concerning. I just watched my father die in absolute pain because Dr's failed to prescribe him medication to help him be comfortable. He had aggressive cancer yet I believe he died from malnutrition as for two months he hardly ate. No providing food intravenously nor medical protein shakes despite my pleas. The red tape just to get him into hospice was yet another sad and unbelievable story. Despicable.
Amazing work these doctors and nurses are doing don't put them down on the site.
Absolutely useless. 10 hours for a 2-year-old child with a head wound to be seen. Keep getting told we 2nd or 3rd in the listnnHonestly would be better off getting triage and if everything's ok driving to Christchurch to get treated would be much better. At least you've got a chance of being seen within a working day. We ended up being sent to Christchurch the next day to get fixed up.nnOn the plus side when we did see the doctor she was brilliant
I had to go into a&e for a blocked tear duct from mountain biking. The wait time was not even an hour and the staff were very observant and friendly! I had a great experience! Thank you guys for looking after me :
Been 3 times in 2 days. Not a single doctor listening to the patient about previous experiences with seizures from amoxicillin. Ashburton hospital disregarded this and continued to administer the antibiotic making the patient sick. Only after coming back again the next day and waiting 4 hours did they decide to listen. How can a community trust the health care system when they do this? Should this not be punishable?
