A beautiful and quiet retirement village, well maintained grounds. Lovely staff and residents alike.
29/04/25nNot long ago Cyclone Tam caused havoc with the power in various places across the country. Arvida Peninsula Club experienced an outage from early in the morning until 5pm, when it finally went back on briefly, but went off again for the rest of the night.nnThroughout this, no-one from the Arvida team went around the elderly residents to make sure they were all ok. How is this kind of management ok?nn23/02/22nCyclone Gabrielle was coming & the whole country was preparing for it.nnThe Peninsula Club had no plan in place, did not communicate with the residents & when there was a power outage there was no communication.nnI had to phone the front desk to ask someone to assist my Mum. The only person on was a junior nurse who was very helpful but who told me that she had not been given a plan or directive from senior management. It was the Sat just prior to the cyclone touching down.nnI find this disturbing & suggested to this staff member that it would probably be a good idea to make contact with the residents, as many of them would be frightened & many would be on their own.nnThis is not the kind of response one expects to see at a retirement village.nnUncaring. No empathy whatsoever. I most certainly do not recommend this village.nnIf I could rate it 0, I would.nnSep 2021nMy Mum & Dad have lived here for years & on the whole the staff have been pretty good up until this week.nnMy Dad died in the most stressful of circumstances in lockdown last September when none of us could see him.nnHis birthday would have been last Monday.nnThe village left a birthday card for him in my Mum s letterbox.nnNeed I say more.nnAppalling.
As a resident of over 4 years, I certainly made the right choice. Very attractive accommodations, friendly residents and staff and excellent facilities and ehtertainments. If you are thinking of a retirement home, check this one out first.
We were there to celebrate our sister's birthday and had lunch at the restaurant. The service was amazing as was the food.
Lovely holiday let great location beautiful views very clean and comfortable with all your amenities included
