Art on Main Gallery exhibits original art works by artists central North Island, New Zealand. It is a cooperative run by the artists themselves whom you can often see working at their art or craft when they are manning the gallery.
A wide range of styles of art and handcrafts fills the gallery. The majority of the artists are painters using a variety of mediums and styles. We work from a top NZ Ceramic artist in the gallery who specialises in making animals with character and a sense of fun. Horses feature prominently. Exquisitely turned wooden bowls, platters and pens made from many different trees grown in NZ, show off the extraordinary markings and beauty of the wood. International travellers who are looking for a small piece of NZ to take home, often choose these.
