We did the Aruani Cave tour as well. It is amazingly beautiful! The formations inside the cave are just spectacular! Definitely worth it! You will not see glowworms there, but you will be amazingly surprised by its undescribable beautiful formations! Except for the glowworms' light show, it is definitely more beautiful than the Glowworm Cave!
Visited the Aranui Cave as part of Waitomo tour/visit. It was an eye opening experience. It’s amazing what mother nature is able to create. Though I would not recommend this for elderly or people with knee problems. As the walk before getting into the cave was a bit steep and there were a lot of steps inside the cave with limited lighting.
