After reading some of the recent reviews I was worried about staff being rude to customers and having a bad experience. I decided to go to this restaurant last night and I was amazed how well they have served us. They even asked if we would like to change our table to be closer to the window view. They clearly have done something because we had a great night. We ordered the green curry and the Pad see ew that were incredible and delicious. I will definitely come back!
We haven’t been here for a couple of years because our previous experience was just awful. But I’m thrilled to say that we had such a lovely evening. The staff were attentive, friendly and so inviting. The food arrived promptly and was absolutely delicious. We ordered the Lotus Banquet at $49.50 per person. Excellent value. We asked for “medium” spice. All the dishes were medium except for the prawn dish which was just a little too chilli for a couple of our group. Fresh, flavourful, and plentiful. The mixed appetisers, yellow chicken curry, the peppered fish, and the duck were especially good. We were also served a complimentary chicken Pad Thai, also very flavourful. We will definitely be returning as we live locally. Keep up the great food and service. Wheelchair accessibility: Have to go up a flight of stairs.
Yummy food & peaceful environment, beautiful view from the windows upstairs. The lady waitress was quite rude though. I don't know if she was just grumpy that I wanted to sit by the window there were literally only 2 others in there and almost all seats are empty, or she was judging that I won't spend lots of money on food. She was rushing me to order after I sat down for just a minute, and showed attitudes after I answered to get some water. By that point, I had not even looked at the drink menu. After I ordered food, I asked for the drink menu again, because she took it away before I even looked. I love the food, but I don't recommend coming here. There are so many nice restaurants & cafes in this area, why risk encountering bad customer service?!
We eat here on a regular basis as it’s always been a great experience. We are always spending a lot of money here and also taking friends here, recommend it to others etc. However last Saturday evening at 6pm we went for early dinner so not prime time, we ordered 2 wines 1 meal to share and roti bread as we were going out afterwards. We were told to order another meal or that we should order a takeaway instead as we were taking up a table and that minimum spend per person was $30. It doesn’t say this anywhere. We felt really awkward and uncomfortable and when I worked it out the cost of our order was over $60 between us. Unfortunately this left a bad taste in our mouths and we will not be revisiting or recommending Angel Thai in future.
We like the food but the takeaway service if very poor. We ordered online and was given an estimated time of 30 minutes. I turned up to pick up after 35 minutes and was told it was 5 minutes away, this pattern continued to repeat until the food arrived 30 minutes late. I tried to complain to the management and they were extremely unhelpful. I recommend not buying online from Angel Thai in future.
The sea-view from the open window overlooking St Heliers is stunning. We ordered 4 mains and some side dishes and dessert , all of them are very average. It’s a good place if you want a nice view ,otherwise there are lots of better Thai restaurants to choose.
Me and family went out for birthday dinner yesterday.. the staff was great.. we liked the view...but we were a bit disappointed in food...we order 5 different dishes and only 1 was good...they were too small for the price....we were so hungry after we left we order takeaways...
Rather overpriced for tiny servings. We ordered 2 soups for $10.50 each and they arrived in the smallest size takeaway containers. For a serving so small I'd expect to pay $4-$7. Also one of the soups was advertised as containing tofu but arrived with just chicken in it. And the tofu in the tom yum wasn't deep fried just silky as it usually is which made the texture less enjoyable. Though the broth tasted good the servings were much too small to ever be worth ordering from here again
Food very nice Waitress lady very rude! One of dishes didn't come out and had to ask for it Overall is a nice restaurant but the senior staff are so rude, makes an unpleasant experience
One of regular spots for good meals. Thai street restaurant, good authentic food, all well presented and very tasty. Couple of Thai beers on the menu. Lovely service. Venue is small and very popular, booking is essential.
